Secret Harbour, Western Australia
Secret Harbour is an outer southern suburb of Perth, the capital city of Western Australia, located within the City of Rockingham on the Indian Ocean coast at Comet Bay. Despite its name, Secret Harbour does not have a harbour. The name results from a failed marina development and was approved in 1984. Facilities A shopping centre containing Woolworths, Coles and ALDI supermarkets, as well as specialty and necessity stores provides for immediate shopping needs; the nearest regional shopping centres are Rockingham Shopping Centre and Mandurah Forum, each located about away. The Whistling Kite restaurant, bar and bottle shop is located behind the Secret Harbour Shopping Centre, and is a well known social meeting place in the suburb and its surrounds. Warnbro is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Western Australia. The district is located in the outer south-western suburbs of Perth. Politically, Warnbro is a safe Labor seat. At its creation, the district was calculated to have a Labor Party majority of 61.2% to 38.8% versus the Liberal Party. Warnbro Sound Avenue is a main road and suburban distributor in the southern suburbs of Rockingham south of Perth, and runs through or alongside the suburbs of Warnbro, Port Kennedy and Secret Harbour, ending at Dampier Drive in Golden Bay where it links to Mandurah Road. It continues on from Read Street and links these suburbs to the Rockingham City shopping centre. It is a dual carriageway until just before it ends in Golden Bay. Mandurah Road is the name given to two roads in the cities of Perth and Mandurah, Western Australia, which link together at Stakehill Road, Karnup. Route description The northern part starts in the Kwinana Beach industrial area. After 2 km and reaching the City of Rockingham boundary, it becomes a semi-rural single carriageway road which runs past wetlands east of Rockingham such as Lake Cooloongup and Lake Walyungup. Comet Bay College is a public co-educational high school, located in Secret Harbour, south of Perth, Western Australia. Established in 2006 at the premises now occupied by Comet Bay Primary School, the College moved to its present location south of the primary school in 2007. Fly-in fly-out is a method of employing people in remote areas by flying them temporarily to the work site instead of relocating employees and their families permanently. It is often abbreviated to FIFO when referring to employment status. This is common in large mining regions in Australia and Canada.
