Second Wind (1978 Film)
''Second Wind'' () is a 1978 French drama film directed by Gérard Blain, starring Robert Stack and Anicée Alvina. It tells the story of a man in his 50s who leaves his wife and children to live with a woman 30 years younger than himself, only to discover an unsettling link between the woman and a man of his age who had been in a motorcycle accident. Gérard Blain (23 October 1930 – 17 December 2000) was a French actor and film director. Biography Blain appeared in sixty films between 1944 and 2000. He also directed nine films between 1971 and 2000. In 1971, he won the Golden Leopard at the Locarno International Film Festival The Locarno Film Festival is an annual film festival, held every August in Locarno, Switzerland. Robert Stack
Robert Stack (born Charles Langford Modini Stack; January 13, 1919 – May 14, 2003) was an American actor. Known for his deep voice and commanding presence, he appeared in over forty feature films. He starred in the highly successful ABC television series ''The Untouchables'' (1959–1963), for which he won the 1960 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Series, and later hosted/narrated the true-crime series ''Unsolved Mysteries'' (1987–2002). He was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film ''Written on the Wind'' (1956). Anicée Alvina, also known as Anicée Schahmaneche (born Anicée Shahmanesh or Anicee Schahmane ( fa, انیسه شاهمنش; 28 January 1953 – 11 November 2006) was a French singer and actress. Early life and career Alvina was born at Boulogne-Billancourt, Hauts-de-Seine. Her French mother and Iranian father owned a house on Rue de Verdun in Le Vésinet, where Alvina attended the Lycée Alain. After her 1969 graduation from the Conservatory in Saint-Germain-en-Laye Alvina made her screen debut in '' Elle boit pas, elle fume pas, elle drague pas, mais... elle cause !'' ( fr) in 1970. Mareike Ann Carrière (26 July 1954 – 17 March 2014) was a German actress, spokesperson and translator. She was perhaps best known for her television show appearances. She was born in Hanover, Lower Saxony, West Germany. At the age of 16, she began her training at the Lübeck Drama School. After completing this, she caught up on her Abitur and studied English and French at the Sorbonne in Paris. She finished this study with a diploma as a translator. Carrière died from bladder cancer on 17 March 2014 in Hamburg, Germany. She was 59 years old.
