Sitcom
A sitcom, a portmanteau of situation comedy, or situational comedy, is a genre of comedy centered on a fixed set of characters who mostly carry over from episode to episode. Sitcoms can be contrasted with sketch comedy, where a troupe may use new characters in each sketch, and stand-up comedy, where a comedian tells jokes and stories to an audience. Sitcoms originated in radio, but today are found mostly on television as one of its dominant narrative forms. A situation comedy television program may be recorded in front of a studio audience, depending on the program's production format. The effect of a live studio audience can be imitated or enhanced by the use of a laugh track. East Asian Canadians are Canadians who were either born in or can trace their ancestry to East Asia. The term East Asian Canadian is a subgroup of Asian Canadians. John Doyle (born 1957) is a Canadian writer who is a television critic at ''The Globe and Mail''. Early life John Doyle was born in 1957 in Nenagh, County Tipperary, Ireland, and came to Canada in 1980. ''Devil's Mile'' is a 2014 Canadian horror film and the feature film directorial debut of Joseph O'Brien, who also wrote the script (developed in collaboration with producer Mark Opausky) and created the film's visual effects. Romeo Montague () is the male protagonist of William Shakespeare's tragedy ''Romeo and Juliet''.
