Sean Fitzharris
Sean Fitzharris (born 13 October 1991, in Greenock) is a Scottish association football, football player, who plays for East Kilbride F.C., East Kilbride in the Lowland Football League. Fitzharris came through the youth academies of both halves of the Old Firm, Rangers F.C., Rangers and Celtic F.C., Celtic. Fitzharris began his youth career at Rangers, playing for various age groups before moving to Celtic. After success with Celtic's youth teams, he joined Greenock Morton on loan, where he eventually signed a one-year contract. Following his release, he signed with Clyde and later went on loan to East Kilbride, eventually signing a permanent deal with them. Internationally, Fitzharris played for Scotland's U17 squad, scoring three goals in seven appearances. He was raised in Inverkip and attended St Columba's High School in Gourock. Gourock
Gourock ( ; gd, Guireag ) is a town in the Inverclyde council area and formerly a burgh of the County of Renfrew in the west of Scotland. It was a seaside resort on the East shore of the upper Firth of Clyde. Its main function today is as a residential area, extending contiguously from Greenock, with a railway terminus and ferry services across the Clyde. History The name Gourock comes from a Gaelic word for "pimple", in reference to the hill above the town. As far back as 1494 it is recorded that James IV sailed from the shore at Gourock to quell the rebellious Highland clans. Two hundred years later William and Mary granted a Charter in favour of Stewart of Castlemilk which raised Gourock to a Burgh of Barony. In 1784 the lands of Gourock were purchased by Duncan Darroch, a former merchant in Jamaica. St Columba's High School, Gourock
St Columba's High School is a co-educational six-year Roman Catholic, comprehensive secondary school, located next to Tower Hill Gourock, Inverclyde, Scotland. The school serves south west Greenock, Gourock, Inverkip and Wemyss Bay. The current enrolment (2018) is 682 pupils. The school won the Platinum Award in Enterprise Inverclyde Standards and Quality Report 2005/2006. The school also received top marks from the last visit by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Education. It is also the first school in Inverclyde to receive Charter Mark status, for providing outstanding customer service. History The original school dates back to 1909, however St. Columba's in its current form was officially opened by Archbishop Donald Mackintosh of Glasgow, on 16 June 1933. Inverkip
Inverkip (Scottish Gaelic: ''Inbhir Chip'') is a village and parish in the Inverclyde council area and historic county of Renfrewshire in the west central Lowlands of Scotland, southwest of Greenock and north of Largs on the A78 trunk road. The village takes its name from the River Kip and is served by Inverkip railway station. History Origins In 1170 Baldwin de Bigres, Sheriff of Lanark, granted a stretch of land to the monks of Paisley Abbey. This land was described as "The pennyland between the rivulets Kip and Daff". Pennyland is an old Scots word of Norse origin which is used to describe a small piece of land, the rent for which is one penny per year. The area granted to the monks in 1170 equates to much of the north section of today's village, from the bridge over the Daff on Main Street, near Inverkip Hotel to the old bridge over the River Kip at Bridgend Cottages. Cappielow, also known as Cappielow Park supported by Dalrada Technology UK for sponsorship reasons, is a football stadium in Greenock, Inverclyde, Scotland.
