Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman Temple
Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman Temple is a Hindu Temple in the predominantly middle-class suburb of USJ, Selangor, Malaysia. Believed but not proved to be initially constructed in 1891, the exact age of the temple is disputed by The Star. The current site of the temple is on a piece of land previously owned by Sime Darby, which was later purchased by MCT Bhd, who are the developers of One City. Temple land dispute One City Development proceeded to relocate the temple from its current location following the land purchase, with the developer successfully applied for a court order. However, temple authorities sought the help of politicians to handle the issue of relocation of the temple. Following political involvement, Selangor Executive Committee Official affirmed that the courts have decided that it is the right of the developer to relocate the temple as they were the registered proprietors, but attempts to take possession of the land by the developers proved futile. Kuala Kedah
Kuala Kedah is a mukim and parliamentary constituency in Kota Setar District, Kedah, Malaysia. It is a fishing port, located at the mouth of the Kedah River, and serves as a terminus for ferries to the tourist island of Langkawi. It is home to a fort, Kota Kuala Kedah. Kuala Kedah is accessible by bus or taxi from Alor Setar. History The fort was built in 1782 to replace an old fort, a stockade, which was existence in 1611 (then known as Kota Kuala Bahang). Kuala Kubu Bharu
Kuala Kubu Bharu (also spelt Kuala Kubu Baru, Kuala Kubu Bahru or Kuala Kubu Baharu; abbreviated to KKB), is the district capital of Hulu Selangor District, Selangor, Malaysia. It is located 60 km north of Kuala Lumpur. In 1883, the Sungai Selangor dam breaks, causing a massive flood. It swept away the entire town the second time it broke in 1926, except for Guan Yin Gu Si Temple and Al-Hidayah Mosque. Following the flood, the British then relocated the town to a higher elevation and began to rebuild the town. Originally the town was named Kuala Kubu, however after the flood happened, the town was then renamed Kuala Kubu Bharu or New Kuala Kubu in English.
