Sea Otter Classic
The Sea Otter Classic is a bicycling and outdoor sports festival and exposition held each spring since 1991 at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca Laguna Seca Raceway (branded as WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, and previously Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca) is a paved road racing track in central California used for both auto racing and motorcycle racing, built in 1957 near both Salinas and ... in Monterey, California. The Sea Otter Classic is named in honor of the southern sea otter, an indigenous mammal which flourishes along the neighboring Pacific coast. Caroline Alexander
Caroline Sarah J. Alexander (born 3 March 1968) is a cross-country mountain biker and road cyclist born in Barrow-in-Furness. She was a swimmer as a child and did not cycle until she was 20. She first rode a bike in competition in a triathlon: she came second in the swimming and was fastest on the bike. She entered her first mountain bike race, which she won. Within a year she was one of the top three mountain-bike racers in the UK. She left her job as a draughtswoman in Barrow shipyards and became a full-time cyclist. She represented Britain at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. She was a reserve for the British Cycling team at the 2001 UCI road world championships Alexander also represented Britain at the UCI Women's Road World Cup events in 2002. Bart Brentjens
Bart Jan-Baptist Marie Brentjens (born 10 October 1968 in Haelen) is a Dutch racing cyclist in mountain biking. Brentjens won a gold medal for mountain biking in the 1996 Summer Olympics, the first to recognize cross-country mountain biking as an event. He followed this with bronze in the 2004 Summer Olympics. Previously he won gold at the 1995 UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships. In 2007 he became 10th time Dutch National champion Brentjens competed in Men's category of the Absa Cape Epic in 2005, winning 1st place overall with team mate Roel Paulissen. In 2009 he won 2nd place overall, this time competing alongside Chris Jongewaard. Brentjens then began competing in the Master's category. He won the category in both 2012 with Jan Weevers and in 2014 with Abraao Azevedo. He has completed the marathon stage race ten times to date. Alison Jane Sydor (born September 9, 1966) is a Canadian retired professional cross-country mountain cyclist. She began cycling at age 20 and is a graduate of the University of Victoria. She won a silver medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in mountain bike, and has won three world mountain bike championships gold medals (1994 in Vail, Colorado; 1995 in Kirchzarten, Germany; and 1996 in Cairns, Australia) and the 2002 relay race in Kaprun, Austria. Levi Leipheimer (born October 24, 1973) is an American former professional road racing cyclist. He was twice US national champion, winning the time trial title in 1999 and the road race in 2007, and is an Olympic medalist. Leipheimer was born and raised in Butte, Montana and resides in Santa Rosa, California. He is the patron of the widely attended King Ridge GranFondo, a mass participation ride in Sonoma County.
