Scottish People
The Scots ( sco, Scots Fowk; gd, Albannaich) are an ethnic group and nation native to Scotland. Historically, they emerged in the early Middle Ages from an amalgamation of two Celtic-speaking peoples, the Picts and Gaels, who founded the Kingdom of Scotland (or '' Alba'') in the 9th century. In the following two centuries, the Celtic-speaking Cumbrians of Strathclyde and the Germanic-speaking Angles of north Northumbria became part of Scotland. In the High Middle Ages, during the 12th-century Davidian Revolution, small numbers of Norman nobles migrated to the Lowlands. In the 13th century, the Norse-Gaels of the Western Isles became part of Scotland, followed by the Norse of the Northern Isles in the 15th century. Scotty Bozek
Edward Scott Bozek (November 20, 1950 – January 7, 2022), also known as Scotty Bozek, was an American épée fencer. He competed at the 1972 and 1976 Summer Olympics. Bozek earned a degree in Russian Studies from the University of Massachusetts in Boston in 1972. He earned a masters in international affairs in Central and Eastern European Studies from Columbia University. He also studied at the National Defense University (the Industrial College of the Armed Forces), and earned another masters in national resource strategy in 1999. Bozek competed at the 1971 and 1975 Pan American Games, winning gold medals both years in team épée and a silver medal in 1971 in individual épée. He was US Champion in épée in 1973 and 1975. Bozek died on January 7, 2022, at the age of 71. Scotty Granger (born July 19, 1987) also known as Scotty Grand and Scotty G, is an American Pop, R&B, Contemporary Music Producer/Singer/Songwriter. He plays piano, guitar, flute, sax, and piccolo, among others. Scott Carlos Gomez (born December 23, 1979) is an American professional ice hockey coach and former player. He was the assistant coach for the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League (NHL). Gomez had previously played in the NHL with the New Jersey Devils, New York Rangers, Montreal Canadiens, San Jose Sharks, Florida Panthers, St. Louis Blues and Ottawa Senators. Scotty Glacken
Edward Scott Glacken (July 28, 1944 – December 27, 2006) was an American football quarterback and coach. He played college football at Duke University. In 1963, Glacken threw for a school-record 12 touchdown passes. Glacken finished his Duke career with 3,170 yards and 24 touchdowns, helping the Blue Devils to a 15–13–2 record during his final three years as a player. Glacken played two seasons with the Denver Broncos, leading them to a 1967 exhibition victory over the Detroit Lions, the first time an American Football League (AFL) club defeated a team from the rival National Football League (NFL). Glacken would begin a two-decade long coaching career in 1970, taking the head coaching position at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., helping to return the Hoyas to NCAA intercollegiate competition after a number of years as a club team. Winston "Scotty" Fitzgerald (1914–1987) was a Cape Breton fiddler. He was a pioneer in recorded performances of the music, and has heavily influenced the style and repertoire of later generations of players. Fitzgerald was born on February 16, 1914, at White Point, Victoria County, Nova Scotia, a remote fishing village on the northeastern tip of Cape Breton Island. His parents were of Irish-French descent. Both his father and older brother played the violin, and Winston began to take an interest in playing at age eight. His first public performance was at a picnic at age twelve. The Fitzgeralds worked as fishermen in the summer, and in the 1930s Winston also worked at the shipyards in Halifax in the winter. Allan McLean "Scotty" Davidson (March 6, 1891 – June 16, 1915) was a Canadian ice hockey player and soldier. He was considered one of the top wingers of the game's early years. He led his Kingston junior team to two Ontario Hockey Association championships in 1910 and 1911, when he moved to Calgary for the 1911–12 season and led the Calgary Athletics senior team to the Alberta provincial championship. Davidson turned professional with the Toronto Blueshirts in 1912 and was among the National Hockey Association's leading scorers the following two seasons. He captained Toronto to the Stanley Cup championship in 1914.
