Scott Montgomery (born October 16, 1981) is a poker player from Perth, Ontario, Canada who won his first bracelet at the 2010 World Series of Poker in the $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Event #36 and was one of the final table players in the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event. He finished in fifth place earning $3,088,012, which was his fourth cash in the 2008 WSOP. He was eliminated by Peter Eastgate after going all in with . Eastgate had pocket sixes. Montgomery got an ace on the flop and another on the turn. Another player, Dennis Phillips, had folded a six, meaning Eastgate could only hit the to win the hand. The 2008 World Series of Poker was the 39th annual World Series of Poker (WSOP). Held in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino, the series began on May 30th, 2008, and featured 55 poker championships in several variants. All events but the $10,000 World Championship No Limit Texas hold 'em Main Event, the most prestigious of the WSOP events, ended by July 15th. Peter Eastgate
Peter Nicolas Eastgate (born 13 December 1985) is a :Danish poker players, poker player from Denmark, best known as the winner of the World Series of Poker#Main Event, Main Event at the 2008 World Series of Poker. At the time, he became the youngest player ever to win the event. He was subsequently surpassed by Joe Cada in 2009. Poker Tournament
A poker tournament is a tournament where players compete by playing poker. It can feature as few as two players playing on a single table (called a "heads up poker, heads-up" tournament), and as many as tens of thousands of players playing on thousands of tables. The winner of the tournament is usually the person who wins every poker chip in the game and the others are awarded places based on the time of their elimination.
