Scott Moak is an American public address announcer best known for his work for the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association. He previously worked for the Kings as Vice President of game entertainment, production and content, as well as Vice President of Community Impact. Moak has also served as the public address voice of NCAA games at California State University at Sacramento and during the U.S. Track & Field Olympic Trials in Sacramento. The Sacramento Kings are an American professional basketball team based in Sacramento, California. The Kings compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the Western Conference Pacific Division. The 2003–04 NBA season was the Kings' 55th season in the National Basketball Association, and their 19th season in Sacramento. The season was best remembered for the team making a move in the offseason, acquiring Brad Miller from the Indiana Pacers and signing free agent Anthony Peeler. Superstar forward Chris Webber, who spent most of the season recovering from microfracture knee surgery, then serving a suspension due to the Ed Martin scandal, returned for the final 23 games of the season in which they played mediocre basketball the rest of the way. Ira C. Smith is an American public address announcer who has worked for the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association. Since 1976, Smith has been called the ''Voice of Napa Valley Sports ''for KVON and KVYN, covering many local sports. Early life and military service Smith was born and raised in Plum Tree, Indiana. He grew up listening to sportscasters Hilliard Gates and Chris Schenkel. He graduated from Hanover College with a degree in business administration. He was then drafted into the Army. A major assigned him to the Army Public Information Office as a Broadcast Specialist because of the sound of his voice. Career After leaving the military, Ira started his civilian career in radio management and sportscasting.
