Scott Bruun
Lorentz Scott Bruun ( ; born May 3, 1966) is an American Republican politician from the US state of Oregon. He served in the Oregon House of Representatives representing District 37, which encompasses some of the southern suburbs of Portland, Oregon, including part or all of the cities of Durham, Lake Oswego, Rivergrove, Tualatin and West Linn, as well as the hamlet of Stafford and parts of unincorporated Clackamas County. Bruun did not seek re-election in 2010 and was the Republican nominee for in 2010, losing to incumbent Democrat Kurt Schrader. Early life and career Bruun grew up in Portland, Oregon and graduated from Lincoln High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Oregon in 1988 and an MBA from Portland State University in 1992. Julie Parrish (born June 9, 1974) is an American politician and was a Republican member of the Oregon House of Representatives representing District 37 for four terms of office beginning on January 10, 2011, and ending on January 13, 2019. Julie Parrish is the seventh generation of her family to live in Oregon, and the third legislator from her family to serve in the Oregon Legislature. Portland State University (PSU) is a public research university in Portland, Oregon. It was founded in 1946 as a post-secondary educational institution for World War II veterans. Oregon's 5th Congressional District
Oregon's 5th congressional district represents Oregon's central coast through Salem, north to the southern Portland suburbs – including a sliver of Portland itself – and east to the summit of Mount Hood. It includes Lincoln, Marion, and Polk Counties; most of Clackamas and Tillamook Counties; and parts of Benton and Multnomah Counties. The district is currently represented by Republican Lori Chavez-DeRemer, who was elected in 2022 to replace Kurt Schrader who lost renomination. The 2010 United States House of Representatives elections in Oregon were held on November 2, 2010, to determine who would represent the state of Oregon in the United States House of Representatives. Oregon has five seats in the House, apportioned according to the 2000 United States Census. All five incumbents, four Democrats and one Republican, were re-elected to another term. Representatives were elected for two-year terms to serve in the 112th Congress from January 3, 2011 until January 3, 2013; however, re-elected Congressman David Wu resigned partway through his term on August 3, 2011, and a special election was held to fill the rest of his unexpired term. Elections for the 75th Oregon Legislative Assembly took place in 2008. The Republican and Democratic primary elections were on May 20, 2008, and the general election was held on November 4, 2008. Fifteen of the Oregon State Senate's thirty seats were up for election, as were all 60 seats of the Oregon House of Representatives. In the general election, there were 39 races with both Democratic and Republican candidates; 24 were in districts previously represented by a Republican, 15 in districts previously represented by Democrats. District 37 of the Oregon House of Representatives is one of 60 House legislative districts in the state of Oregon. As of 2021, the boundary for the district contains portions of Clackamas and Washington counties. The district includes Tualatin and West Linn as well as parts of Lake Oswego and Wilsonville. Earl Blumenauer
Earl Francis Blumenauer ( ; born August 16, 1948) is an American lawyer, author, and politician serving as the U.S. representative for since 1996. The district includes most of Portland east of the Willamette River. A member of the Democratic Party, Blumenauer previously spent over 20 years as a public official in Portland, including serving on the Portland City Council from 1987 to 1996, when he succeeded Ron Wyden in the U.S. House of Representatives. Wyden was elected to the U.S. Senate after Bob Packwood resigned. Early life and education Blumenauer was born in Portland on August 16, 1948. In 1966, he graduated from Centennial High School on Portland's east side and then enrolled at Lewis & Clark College.
