Scotchfort (46º21'N, 62º55'W) is an unincorporated Canadian rural community in northeastern Queens County, Prince Edward Island, southwest of the village of Mount Stewart. Queens County is a county in the province of Prince Edward Island, Canada. It is the largest county in the province by population with 89,770 (2021) and land. Charlottetown is the county seat of Queens County, and is the largest city and the capital of Prince Edward Island. The county is located in the centre of Prince Edward Island, and the geography varies from relatively flat plains to rolling hills in the central interior lands known as the Bonshaw Hills. The coastline features sandstone cliffs and sandy beaches, with numerous sheltered bays on the Gulf of St. Lawrence and Northumberland Strait. Prince Edward Island

Mount Stewart, Prince Edward Island
Mount Stewart is a rural municipality in Prince Edward Island, Canada. It is located in the northeastern part of Queens County, at the head of the once-navigable portion of the Hillsborough River at the point where the river begins to narrow significantly. Mount Stewart had a population of 226 at the time of the 2021 Census. The community played an important role in the province's early transportation history, being the site of a bridge over the river along the route between the capital at Charlottetown and the shire town of Kings County at Georgetown. Abegweit First Nation is a First Nations government originally known as the Lennox First Nation that is located on Prince Edward Island, Canada. The Abegweit First Nation is headquartered at Scotchfort, known as ''Skaqmk''. This is the location of a historic Míkmaq portage route connecting ''Mimtugaak'' (on the Hillsborough River) to ''Kadotpichk'' (on Savage Harbour). This First Nation comprises three reserves: Morell 2, Rocky Point 3 and Scotchfort 4.
