Edward Schreyer
Edward Richard Schreyer (born December 21, 1935) is a Canadian politician, diplomat, and statesman who served as Governor General of Canada, the 22nd since Canadian Confederation. Schreyer was born and educated in Manitoba, and was first elected to the province's legislative assembly in 1958. He later moved into federal politics, winning a seat in the House of Commons, but returned to Manitoba in 1969 to become leader of the provincial New Democratic Party (NDP). The party then won that year's provincial election and Schreyer became the 16th premier of Manitoba, aged 33. In 1978 he was appointed Governor General by Queen Elizabeth II on the recommendation of Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, to replace Jules Léger, and he occupied the post until succeeded by Jeanne Sauvé in 1984. Peter Schreyer
Peter Schreyer (born 1953) is a German automobile designer widely known for his design contributions to the Audi TT. He has been the chief design officer at Kia Motors since 2006 and, on 28 December 2012, he was named one of three presidents of the company. In 2006, ''Car Design News'' called the Audi TT one of "the most influential automotive designs in recent time". Education and early career Schreyer was born in 1953 in Bad Reichenhall, Bavaria, West Germany, and he began studying in 1975 at the Munich University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule München – Industrie Design). He worked with Audi first as a student in 1978, graduating in 1979 with his industrial design degree. Helmut Schreyer
Helmut Theodor Schreyer (4 July 1912 – 12 December 1984) was a German inventor. He is mostly known for his work on the Z3, one of the first computers. Early life Helmut Schreyer was the son of the minister Paul Schreyer and Martha. When his father started to work in a parish in Mosbach, the young Schreyer went to a school there. He earned his Abitur in 1933. He then worked as an intern at AEG. Career Schreyer started to study electronic and telecommunications engineering at the Technical University of Berlin in 1934. He got to know Konrad Zuse in the fraternity ''AV Motiv'' in 1935 and then helped him to construct the computer Z1. In 1938 he earned his diploma and then worked as a graduate assistant at Prof. Wilhelm Stäblein's institute. Wolfgang Schreyer (20 November 1927 – 14 November 2017) was a German writer of fiction, historic adventures mixed with documentary, science fiction for TV shows and movies and is best known as the author of over 20 adventure stories. Life Wolfgang Schreyer was born the son of a pharmacist. On leaving secondary school he was conscripted as a Flakhelfer before, in April 1944, he joined the Nazi Party and served in the Wehrmacht. He became a POW and was released by the Americans in 1946. From 1947 until 1949 he was a chemists' apprentice, working in that profession until 1950. From 1950 to 1952, he was the manager of a pharmaceutical company in the German Democratic Republic. Since the publication of his first crime novel, ''Großgarage Südwest'', he worked as a freelance author. He travelled several times to the Caribbean and to the United States. Frank-Olaf Schreyer is a German mathematician, specializing in algebraic geometry and algorithmic algebraic geometry. Schreyer received in 1983 his PhD from Brandeis University with thesis ''Syzgies of Curves with Special Pencils'' under the supervision of David Eisenbud. Schreyer was a professor at University of Bayreuth and is since 2002 a professor at Saarland University. He is involved in the development of (algorithmic) algebraic geometry advanced by David Eisenbud. Much of Schreyer's research deals with syzygy theory and the development of algorithms for the calculation of syzygies. Cynthia "Cindy" Schreyer (born January 21, 1963) is an American professional golfer who played on the LPGA Tour. She also competed as Cindy McCurdy from 1998 to 2000. Schreyer started playing golf at the age of 15. Schreyer won several amateur tournaments including the NCAA Women's Division I Championship in 1984 and the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links in 1986. She played on the U.S. Curtis Cup team in 1986. While at the University of Georgia, she won the Broderick Award (now the Honda Sports Award) as the nation's best female collegiate golfer in 1984. Adolf Schreyer (9 July 1828, Frankfurt-am-Main29 July 1899, Kronberg im Taunus) was a German painter, associated with the Düsseldorf school of painting. Biography He studied art first at the Städel Institute in his native town, and then at Stuttgart and Munich. He painted many of his favourite subjects in his travels in the East. He first accompanied Maximilian Karl, 6th Prince of Thurn and Taxis through Hungary, Wallachia, Russia and Turkey; then, in 1854, he followed the Austrian army across the Wallachian frontier. In 1856 he went to Egypt and Syria, and in 1861 to Algiers. In 1862 he settled in Paris, but returned to Germany in 1870; and settled at Cronberg near Frankfurt, where he died. Lynn G. Schreyer (formerly Lynn Laverne Schreyer Bennethum) is an American applied mathematician whose research concerns the mathematical modeling of porous media. She is associate professor of mathematics and statistics at Washington State University, and full professor of the department of mathematics and statistics at Washington State University in March 2021 . Fred Schreyer served as the CEO and Commissioner of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA). Schreyer joined the PBA in October 2002, serving as the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel. He later became the PBA Commissioner in 2003.
