Jersey
Jersey ( , ; nrf, Jèrri, label=Jèrriais ), officially the Bailiwick of Jersey (french: Bailliage de Jersey, links=no; Jèrriais: ), is an island country and self-governing Crown Dependencies, Crown Dependency near the coast of north-west France. It is the largest of the Channel Islands and is from the Cotentin Peninsula in Normandy. Beaulieu Convent School
Beaulieu Convent School is a Roman Catholic independent school for girls located in St Helier, Jersey. The school was established in 1951 by sisters from the Order of the Immaculate Conception. In 1999 the Order of the Immaculate Conception gifted Beaulieu School, the site and its buildings to the island of Jersey on the understanding it would remain a Catholic School. Today the school is divided into preschool, primary and secondary departments, and also operates a sixth form. Courses of study offered at the school include GCSEs, A Levels and BTECs. De La Salle College, Jersey
De La Salle College in Jersey is a private independent Catholic all-boys school taking its name from St. John Baptist de La Salle (1651–1719), who founded the De La Salle Brothers in France. History De La Salle College takes its name from St. John Baptist de La Salle (1651–1719), who founded the Brothers' Order in the time of Louis XIV. Today the Order has establishments in over 80 countries. A few Brothers settled in Jersey at the time of the French Revolution and remained on the Island for several years. Then, from 1866 to 1896, a school of up to 300 pupils run by the Brothers' flourished in St. Thomas's Parish. The Brothers left the Island in 1896, but were invited to return in 1917 to found another school. St Michael's Preparatory School
St Michael's Preparatory School is the largest private preparatory school in Jersey, situated in the parish of St. Saviour. The school acts as a feeder to many British public schools in the United Kingdom. The school celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2008. It has a pre-prep department (from age 4–7), and a senior school which goes up to age 13. Haute Vallée School is a secondary school with 550 students owned and operated by the States of Jersey, and located in the parish of St Helier in Jersey. Hautlieu School
Hautlieu School, or simply Hautlieu, is a secondary school in Jersey which accepts students aged 14 and over. The school is owned and operated by the States of Jersey. Overview In 2012, the school had approximately 680 pupils. During the academic year 2004/2005 the GCSE pass rate was 100%, at which 40% gained A* to A grades. At A level there was an 87% pass rate of which 79% obtained grades A-C. Admission into Hautlieu depends on the result of CAT, Cognitive Abilities Test, exams with a minimum result of 109, as well as the results of the PT, Progress Test, in English and Maths (PTE and PTM respectively) with a minimum result of 103 on both tests. It is, however, possible for determined students who have not achieved the necessary CAT or PT scores to appeal. Over the years it has been suggested by politicians that Hautlieu should be converted to a sixth-form college and the 14+ system (which some regard as controversial) be abolished. Les Quennevais School
Les Quennevais School (Jèrriais: ''L'êcole des Tchennevais'') is a secondary school, owned and operated by the States of Jersey, and located in the parish of Saint Brélade in Jersey. History In 2015, it was decided that the Les Quennevais secondary school buildings needed to be replaced because they were outdated, too small for the student body, and on a site that is too small for a modern school.
