Scerni ( Abruzzese: ') is a town of 3,645 inhabitants of the province of Chieti is part of the Middle Vastese. Total area is , and population density is 89 inhab/km2. The county has borders with Atessa, Gissi, Monteodorisio and Pollutri. Scerni was once part of the Kingdom of Two Sicilies. Pollutri ( Abruzzese: ', ') is a ''comune'' and town in the Province of Chieti in the Abruzzo region of Italy There are many legends regarding the birth of Pollutri, all the fruit of popular imagination. The most famous Lombard refers to a prince who had decided to build a country where he found a lost colt. In reality, things were a little different. In 568 the Lombards, under the leadership of King Albano, took to Italy in search of new sources of income and with a quick campaign of war occupied the north of Italy, Tuscany, Abruzzo, Molise, Campania and Basilicata. At that time the hill on which Pollutri now stands was covered with thick forests and there were only a few huts of shepherds and farmers. The Lombards, soon arrived and did their utmost to integrate with the indigenous population. Pamphilus Of Sulmona
Saint Pamphilus of Sulmona ( it, Panfilo di Sulmona) (d. early 8th century) was bishop of Sulmona and a saint. Pamphilus was born in Abruzzo, probably around the middle of the 7th century. He was the son of a pagan who repudiated him when he converted to Christianity. He was elected bishop of Sulmona in 682. He is traditionally described as a person of a very generous and kindly spirit who was much concerned with the evangelisation of the invading Lombards. He died at Corfinio, of which he was also bishop, probably shortly after 700. Abruzzo (historically plural Abruzzi) is an Italian wine region located in the mountainous central Italian region of Abruzzo along the Adriatic Sea.
