Sayeed Khokon
Sayeed Khokon is a Bangladeshi businessman, politician who's served as mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation from 2015 to 2020. His father Mohammad Hanif was Dhaka city's first elected mayor. He is the executive member of Awami League central working committee. Early life Khokon's father Mohammad Hanif was the first elected mayor of Dhaka. Mayor election Khokon collected nomination form of Awami League on 24 March 2015. He won in the first Dhaka South City Corporation election on 29 April 2015. On 26 July 2017, Khokon blamed Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority for water logging problems in the city. On 26 December 2019, Khokon collected Dhaka South City Corporation nomination papers from Awami League. The nomination went to Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh and Khokon accordingly accepted the decision of the party and party president, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) is one of the two municipal corporations in Dhaka created when the former Dhaka City Corporation (first declared in 1864) was divided into two by the Local Government (City Corporation) Amendment Bill 2011 on 29 November 2011, passed in the Parliament of Bangladesh, following the President's approval. The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit is a government agency of Bangladesh responsible for investigating money laundering, suspicious transactions, and cash transaction reports. The unit works under Bangladesh bank. Md Masud Biswas is the chief of Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit. History The unit was founded as the Anti-Money Laundering Department of Bangladesh Bank in June 2002. Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh
Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh (born 19 November 1971) is a Bangladeshi politician and current Mayor of South Dhaka. He previously served as a Member of the Jatiya Sangsad for Dhaka-10 and Dhaka-12 from the Bangladesh Awami League. Early life Taposh was born to Awami League leader Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani and Arzu Moni. His parents were both assassinated on 15 August 1975 in a military coup that also killed Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and other members of his family.
