Savona 1907 F.B.C.
Savona Foot-Ball Club is an Italian football club located in Savona, Liguria. It currently plays in Prima Categoria and the home matches are played at Stadio Valerio Bacigalupo. History The club was founded in 1907 by Cesare Lanza and Nicolò Pessano and disputed its first championship in the 1910. Savona's history includes two seasons in the Italian Football Championship in the 1920s, and many seasons in Serie B (the last one in 1966–67). After spending some time in Serie C the team was relegated to Serie D and has remained there for about 20 years, only having two seasons in Serie C2 between 2002 and 2004 before being relegated back. In this period Savona has won its only trophy, the Coppa Italia Dilettanti in 1991. In the season 2009–10 it was promoted from Serie D to Lega Pro Seconda Divisione but on 23 December 2011 the club, in strong financial difficulty, was declared in bankruptcy by the court of Savona. Valerio Bacigalupo
Valerio Bacigalupo (; 12 February 1924 – 4 May 1949) was an Italian footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Born in Vado Ligure, he began his career with Savona. After a brief spell at Genoa, he moved to Torino in 1945, where he won four Serie A titles. He also represented the Italy national team. Club career Bacigalupo started his club career with home province side Savona. After a brief spell at Genoa he moved to Torino where he won Serie A four times in a row. International career Bacigalupo was called up in the Italy national football team five times between 1947 and 1949, making his senior international debut in a 3–1 win over Czechoslovakia on 14 December 1947. Lega Pro Seconda Divisione was the fourth highest football league in Italy, the lowest with a professional status. Usually it consisted of 36 teams, but in the 2011–12 season, there were 41 teams divided geographically into two divisions of 20 and 21. Group A covered northern and north-central Italy, Group B south-central and southern Italy. Until the 2007–08 season, the league was known as Serie C2. L.R. Vicenza, commonly referred to as Vicenza, is an Football in Italy, Italian football club based in Vicenza, Veneto. Founded in 1902 as Associazione del Calcio in Vicenza, they became Lanerossi Vicenza in 1953, then Vicenza Calcio from 1990 to 2018, a year which saw the club going bankrupt and being put under controlled administration in order to preserve the Serie C spot at the end of the 2017–18 season. Coppa Italia Dilettanti
The Coppa Italia Dilettanti (Italian language, Italian for: Italian Amateurs Cup) is an annual knock-out competition for teams from the fifth and sixth levels of Football in Italy, Italian football: the Eccellenza and the Promozione. All ties except for the final, which is held at the Stadio Flaminio in Rome, are played on a home-and-away basis. The cup-winners are also awarded promotion to Serie D, the fourth-ranked league. Prior to the 1999–2000 season the competition also included teams from Serie D. Savona
Savona (; lij, Sann-a ) is a seaport and ''comune'' in the west part of the northern Italy, Italian region of Liguria, capital of the Province of Savona, in the Riviera di Ponente on the Mediterranean Sea. The Serie D () is the top level of semi-professional football in the country. The fourth tier of the Italian league system, the competition sits beneath the third professional league, Serie C. It is administered by the Lega Nazionale Dilettanti and is organized by the Roman ''Comitato Interregionale'' (Interregional Committee), a "league in the league" inside the LND.
