Savera (1958 Film)
''Savera'' () is a 1958 Indian Hindi-language film directed by Satyen Bose starring Ashok Kumar, Meena Kumari in lead roles. Music director Sailesh Mukherjee gave the music of the film. Plot Kundan (Ashok Kumar) is a medical student who is falsely implicated in a murder charge and fails to complete his degree. His neighbor and childhood friend Shanti (Meena Kumari) who Kundan grew up with was married to Kundan at the behest of her mother but they got separated after Kundan took the path of crime. Eventually, Kundan takes the job of a taxi driver and befriends a bunch of criminals. On a trip, he meets with a so called Swami Poornananda (Bipin Gupta) who also is also involved in criminal activities, immediately they befriend. By the end of their train trip they meet with an accident, injuring Swami. Satyen Bose
Satyen Bose (22 January 1916 – 9 June 1993) was a film director from India. He has directed both Bengali language, Bengali and Hindi language films. Among his most notable films are ''Raat Aur Din, Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, Dosti'', and ''Jagriti''. ''Jagriti'' won the Filmfare Best Movie Award in 1956 and ''Dosti'' won the same award in 1964. Without any formal training in cinema, Bose rose to fame with his offbeat debut film ''Parivartan'' (1949). He remade the Bengali film in Hindi as ''Jagriti'' in 1954. Ashok Kumar
Kumudlal Ganguly (13 October 1911 – 10 December 2001), better known by his stage name Ashok Kumar and also by Dadamoni, was an Indian actor who attained iconic status in Indian cinema and who was a member of the cinematic Ganguly family. He was honoured in 1988 with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest national award for cinema artists, by the Government of India and also received the Padma Bhushan in 1999 for his contributions to Indian cinema. Meena Kumari
Meena Kumari (born Mahjabeen Bano; 1 August 1933 – 31 March 1972) was an Indian actress and poet, who worked in Hindi films. Popularly known as ''The Tragedy Queen'', she was active between 1939 and 1972. Kumari is widely considered one of the greatest actress of Indian cinema. In a career spanning 33 years, she starred in over 90 films until her premature death in 1972. Meena Kumari won four Filmfare Awards in the Best Actress category. Bipin Gupta
Bipin Gupta (21 August 1905 – 9 September 1981) was an Indian actor and artist during the 1930s and 1960s. He acted in Bengali and Hindi cinema, most notably in ''Baiju Bawra'' (1952), ''Jagriti'' (1954), ''Gharana'' (1961) and '' Khilona'' (1970). Early life Gupta was born to a Bengali family on 21 August 1905 in Meerut, the 5th child of his parents Trailokya Nath Gupta and Khemankari Devi. They later moved to Barrackpore. He attended the Chinsura Training School and the Barrackpore Government High School. He was married to Annapurna Devi. Shailendra (30 August 1923 – 14 December 1966) was a popular Indian Hindi-Urdu Poet, lyricist and film producer. Noted for his association with the filmmaker Raj Kapoor, singer Mukesh, and the composers Shankar–Jaikishan, he wrote lyrics for several successful Hindi film songs in the 1950s and the 1960s.
