SaveEasy
SaveEasy (formerly ''Atlantic Save-Easy'') was a chain of small retail grocery store franchises in the Atlantic Provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island, owned by Loblaw Companies. The chain was owned by Atlantic Wholesalers Ltd. of Sackville, New Brunswick, and the first SaveEasy opened in 1959, followed by rapid expansion to quickly become the region's second-largest grocery banner, behind Sobeys. Loblaws entered the Maritime provinces in 1976 when they purchased Atlantic Wholesalers. During a period of restructuring SaveEasy stores introduced Loblaw house brands such as No Name during the recession of the early 1980s, and SaveEasy's logo was updated to match the Loblaws logo. Atlantic Superstore is a Canadian supermarket chain. The chain operates 54 stores in the Maritimes of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island. It is owned by George Weston Limited through Loblaw Companies Limited, and operates under the Atlantic Wholesalers division of Loblaws. The stores range in from 45,000 to over 120,000 square feet (4,000 to over 10,000 m²) in size. Provigo is a grocery retailer based in Quebec, Canada, consisting of over 300 stores and franchises throughout the province. It operates a retailing chain of stores and distribution warehouses. It is owned by Loblaw Companies Limited. The chain's advertising slogan is "Si vite, si bon!" ("So quick, so good!") Your Independent Grocer
Your Independent Grocer (YIG), known colloquially as "Independent" or "Yours" is a supermarket chain in Canada with more than 100 locations. It has stores in every province and territory except Manitoba, Nunavut, and Quebec. It is a unit of National Grocers, itself a unit of Loblaw Companies Limited. Stores are typically operated by a franchise owner. Many of the stores were originally Ottawa-area outlets of the defunct Quebec-based Steinberg's grocery chain. When Steinberg's was bought out by Metro Richelieu in 1992, the Ottawa-area franchises were spun off into the separate Your Independent Grocer chain. No Frills (currently styled ''NOFRILLS'' and formerly styled ''nofrills'') is a Canadian chain of discount supermarkets, owned by Loblaw Companies Limited, a subsidiary of George Weston Limited. There are over 200 franchise stores located in nine Canadian provinces. History The first No Frills store was a converted Loblaws outlet slated for closure. The store opened on July 5, 1978, in East York, Toronto. While it offered a very limited range of goods and basic customer service, the store promoted discount prices. The opening of the prototype outlet coincided with a period of rising inflation rates and consumer complaints regarding the high price of food. SuperValu is a chain of franchised and associated grocery stores in Canada that currently operates in the province of British Columbia and Alberta. Background Founded in British Columbia in 1951 by Loblaw Companies Limited as a chain of independently-owned supermarkets supplied by Loblaws' wholesale subsidiary, Kelly Douglas & Company. In the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, many SuperValu stores were created from former Loblaws corporate stores as the banner expanded across western Canada. Balmoral, New Brunswick
Balmoral is a Canadian community and former incorporated village in Restigouche County, New Brunswick. It is located approximately 10 kilometres south of Dalhousie. Although Balmoral's population presently meets the requirements for "town" status under the Municipalities Act of the Province of New Brunswick, the community has not yet made any change to its municipal status. Beresford is a town in Gloucester County, New Brunswick, Canada.
