Sautisol
Sauti Sol is a Kenyan band formed in Nairobi, Kenya, by vocalists Bien-Aimé Baraza, Willis Chimano and Savara Mudigi in 2005. Initially an a cappella group, guitarist Polycarp Otieno joined before they named themselves Sauti Sol. Sauti Sol released their debut studio album '' Mwanzo'' on 1 November 2008, to critical acclaim. Their second studio album, '' Sol Filosofia'', was released on 25 February 2011, earning the group a number of accolades and nominations in the process. On 18 June 2012, the band released a self-titled extended play in collaboration with South African rapper and record producer Spoek Mathambo. Their third studio album, '' Live and Die in Afrika'', was released online on 21 November 2015 as a free download, available for 48 hours as an early Christmas present. Nairobi
Nairobi ( ) is the capital and largest city of Kenya. The name is derived from the Maasai phrase ''Enkare Nairobi'', which translates to "place of cool waters", a reference to the Nairobi River which flows through the city. The city proper had a population of 4,397,073 in the 2019 census, while the metropolitan area has a projected population in 2022 of 10.8 million. Strathmore School
Strathmore School is Kenya's first multi-racial school, established in 1961 in the Lavington area of Nairobi. It began as a residential Sixth Form College offering British-styled A-level courses and in 1963 switched from the Cambridge School Certificate Examination to the London GCE. In 1977 it became a full-fledged Secondary school. In 1988, the school began offering education under the KCSE - Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education - curricula which it follows to date. The first batch of Primary school students (6-7 year olds) entered in 1987. It no longer has any boarders. School uniform The school uniform consists of a cream/beige shirt, mid-grey trousers, grey socks and black shoes. The tie has black, white and blue stripes. The name Hembrug refers to various geographic entities in the municipality of Zaanstad, in the Netherlands. Area The area called ''Hembrug'' was formerly a ''hem'', that is, a headland later diked in to become part of a polder. Originally called ''De Hem'', it later became named after the bridge across the North Sea Canal; see below. Bridge The ''Hembrug'' is the name given to a swing bridge built in 1878 to carry the railroad between Amsterdam and Zaandam in the Netherlands across the North Sea Canal, and to its replacement, a longer and higher bridge built between 1903 and 1907, after the canal had been widened to cater for an increase in ship traffic. Sol Filosofia
''Sol Filosofia'' is the second studio album by Kenyan afro-pop band Sauti Sol. It was released on February 25, 2011 by Penya Records, and launched at the Alliance française in Nairobi. The album's two singles "Soma Kijana" and "Coming Home" also had music videos released, with that of the latter featuring Singles * "Soma Kijana" was released as the album's lead single. It urges all youth to take education seriously and read. The song's genre was inspired by one of Sauti Sol's biggest inspirations, the late Daudi Kabaka. * "Coming Home" was released as the album's second single. A music video for the song was released on 13 April 2011, and featured singer and reality star Patricia Kihoro. In the video, guitarist Polycarp Otieno finds himself rejected by his girlfriend soon after the band returns home from tour, pushing him to take his own life as his fellow band members try to save him.
