Saudi Ladies International
The Aramco Saudi Ladies International is a professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour (LET), first played in 2020. The tournament is played in Saudi Arabia at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in King Abdullah Economic City by the Red Sea. It was the penultimate regular LET event of the 2020 season and marked the first time professional lady golfers played competitively in the country. It was followed the week after by the Saudi Ladies Team International, a team event that would later evolve into the Aramco Team Series. In 2022, the Ladies European Tour announced that for the February 2023 tournament, the prize money will increase from $1 million to $5 million, giving parity with the men's tournament for the first time. King Abdullah Economic City
King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC, ; ar, مدينة الملك عبد الله الاقتصادية) is a megaproject announced in 2005 by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the former king of Saudi Arabia. It was one of six megaprojects that were announced in 2005 and is the only one that was launched. By 2018, ''The Financial Times'' wrote that the city had not attracted investment or become a hub for logistics and manufacturing, contrary to the grand plans behind the project. By 2018, the city had a population of 7,000. Emily Kristine Pedersen
Emily Kristine Pedersen (born 7 March 1996) is a Danish professional golfer who plays on the Ladies European Tour and LPGA Tour. She had a successful amateur career winning the 2013 International European Ladies Amateur Championship and the 2014 British Ladies Amateur Golf Championship. Turning professional in early 2015 she had a successful first season, finishing runner-up in the Deloitte Ladies Open and the Lacoste Ladies Open de France before winning the Hero Women's Indian Open. Atthaya Thitikul ( th, อาฒยา ฐิติกุล, , ; born 20 February 2003) is a Thai professional golfer who plays on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour. She is the youngest golfer ever to win a professional golf tournament at aged 14 years, 4 months and 19 days after winning the Ladies European Thailand Championship as an amateur on 9 July 2017. The 2021 Ladies European Tour was a series of golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world. The tournaments were sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour (LET). The season was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic with many tournaments either being postponed or cancelled. Among the cancellations was the Australian Swing, the tour's season opening. Kristýna Napoleaová (born 12 April 1996) is a Czech professional golfer and former footballer with AC Sparta Prague. She won the 2023 Amundi German Masters. Career Napoleaová is a former football player of the Czech Republic women's national under-17 football team and a six-time champion of the Czech Women's U-15 and U-19 League with AC Sparta Prague. Johanna Gustavsson (born 13 December 1992) is a Swedish professional golfer and member of the Ladies European Tour. In 2022, she was runner-up at the Saudi Ladies International, the Women's NSW Open and the Aramco Team Series – Bangkok, before captaining the winning team at the Aramco Team Series – New York. Aditi Ashok (born 29 March 1998) is an Indian professional golfer from Bangalore. She plays on the Ladies European Tour and LPGA Tour. She made her Olympic Games debut at the 2016 Summer Olympics. The Aramco Team Series is a professional women's golf competition that is part of the Ladies European Tour (LET), first played in 2020. The inaugural tournament was played as the Saudi Ladies Team International at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) by the Red Sea in Saudi Arabia.
