Satyricon (1969 Polidoro Film)
''Satyricon'', also named ''The Degenerates'', is an Italian film from 1969 directed by Gian Luigi Polidoro. Like the more famous version made by Federico Fellini it is loosely based on Petronius's work, ''Satyricon'', a series of bawdy and satirical episodes written during the reign of the emperor Nero and set in imperial Rome. Plot Encolpius and Ascyltus are two corrupt boys roaming the mean streets of Rome at the time of the empire of Nero. Both boys constantly engage in conflict with each other for the love of the young Gitone, who often prefers Ascyltus, infuriating lover Encolpius. Due to a misunderstanding, the three end up in the house of a rich freedman: the crude Trimalchio, who in his rich dinner amazes guests with exuberant courses. Escaping from the house of the crude man, Ascyltus and Encolpius continue to fight for Gitone until Encolpius makes friends with the poet Eumolpus, while Ascyltus dies of diseases. Alberto Grimaldi (28 March 1925 – 23 January 2021) was an Italian film producer. Biography Grimaldi was born in Naples and studied law. In 1962 he founded his own production company, P.E.A., and released his first feature film, '' The Shadow of Zorro'' the following year and his first Spaghetti Western ''I due violenti'' (1964). His producing credits include '' For a Few Dollars More'' in 1965, ''The Good, the Bad and the Ugly'' in 1966 both with Sergio Leone who initially sought his legal experience advice, ''Last Tango in Paris'' in 1972, and ''Gangs of New York'' in 2002. Grimaldi died of natural causes in Miami on 23 January 2021, at the age of 95. Alberto Grimaldi is survived by his children, Massimo, Maurizio, and Marcello, as well as three grandchildren. Graziella Granata (born 16 March 1941) is an Italian retired film and stage actress. After graduating at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, and after some secondary roles in adventure films and comedies, thanks to a film contract with Angelo Rizzoli film production Graziella Granata from the mid-sixties obtained good roles in films of a certain importance.
