Satiricosissimo
''Satiricosissimo'' is a 1970 Italian comedy film directed by Mariano Laurenti starring the comic duo Franco and Ciccio. It is a parody of the 1969 Federico Fellini film ''Fellini Satyricon''. Plot summary Ciccio loves very much the novel ''Satyricon'' of Petronius Arbiter, although his friend Franco does not understand him. Ciccio also saw the famous Federico Fellini's film about the novel, and he goes with Franco in a country inn, near Rome. The director, seeing the success of the film by Fellini, does furnish the inn in the fashion of ancient Rome. Even the guests and the waiters are dressed to the ancient, and so do Franco and Ciccio, but they break a jar of wine and are hunted. The two fall asleep in a clearing, and wake up in the Rome of the Emperor Nero. Franco and Ciccio risk being killed, and so they're saved just by writer Petronius who hire them as servants. Franco () and Ciccio () were a comic comedy duo formed by Italian actors Franco Franchi (1928–1992) and Ciccio Ingrassia (1922–2003), particularly popular in the 1960s and 1970s. Their collaboration began in 1954 in the theater field, and ended with Franchi's death in 1992. The two made their cinema debuts in 1960 with the film ''Appuntamento a Ischia''. They remained active until 1984 when their last film together, ''Kaos'', was shot, although there were some interruptions in 1973 and from 1975 to 1980. Together, they appeared in 112 films. Considered at the time as protagonists of B movies, they were subsequently reevaluated by critics for their comedy and creative abilities, becoming the subject of study. Mariano Laurenti (15 April 1929 – 6 January 2022) was an Italian film director and actor. Career He started as a script supervisor and later became an assistant director for, among others, Mauro Bolognini and Stefano Vanzina. He directed 50 films between 1966 and 1999, being mainly active in the "commedia sexy all'italiana" genre. Laurenti died in Gubbio on 6 January 2022, at the age of 92. Dino Verde
Dino Verde (13 July 1922 – 1 February 2004) was an Italian author, lyricist, playwright and screenwriter. Life and career Born Edoardo Verde in Naples, in 1943 he started working in the satirical magazine ''Marc'Aurelio''. Since the late 1940s Verde wrote revues and comedy plays for the most popular comedians of the time, including Macario, Nino Taranto, Aldo Fabrizi, Mario Riva and Riccardo Billi, Carlo Dapporto. In 1949 he started collaborating with EIAR, where he specialized in writing sketches and parody songs. Active on television since 1955, he was author of some of the most popular RAI variety shows, such as ''Canzonissima'', ''Doppia coppia'' and '' Studio Uno''. Linda Sini (13 February 1924 – 5 February 1999) was an Italian film actress. She made 75 appearances between 1950 and 1979 and several appearances after this, mostly in film. Debuting in '' Sigillo rosso'' in 1950, she went on to star in films such as Luigi Zampa's comedy '' Anni ruggenti'' (1962), and the James Bond spy spoofs ''002 operazione Luna'' and '' A 001, operazione Giamaica'' (1965). Arturo Dominici (2 January 1916 – 7 September 1992) was an Italian film, television and voice actor. Biography Born in Palermo, Dominici became best known for his many villainous roles in horror and fantasy films. He is best remembered for his performance as the monstrous Igor Javuto in Mario Bava's ''Black Sunday (1960 film), Black Sunday'' (1960) and the evil Eurysteus in the 1958 Steve Reeves epic ''Hercules (1958 film), Hercules''. His filmography includes more than 80 titles, including Antonio Margheriti's ''Castle of Blood'' (1964), in which he appeared with ''Black Sunday'' star Barbara Steele. He was born in Palermo, Sicily, and began his career in the 1950s, although his career only really took off in the 1960s.
