''Satan Was a Lady'' is an American 1975 hardcore pornography, hardcore pornographic film, produced and directed by Doris Wishman, and starring Bree Anthony, Tony Richards, Annie Sprinkle and Bobby Astyr. Synopsis Claudia (Bree Anthony) and Victor (Tony Richards) are engaged to be married. Claudia's sister, Terry (Annie Sprinkle), has affairs with both Victor and Bobby (Bobby Astyr), while Victor maintains another relationship on the side (C. J. Laing). Meanwhile, Ada (Sandy Foxx) – Terry's mother and Claudia's stepmother – schemes to cheat Claudia out of her inheritance. In the end, the entire plot is revealed, but not without dire consequences for Claudia. Doris Wishman
Doris Wishman (June 1, 1912 August 10, 2002) was an American film director, screenwriter, and producer. She is credited with having directed and produced at least 30 feature films during a career spanning over four decades, most notably in the sexploitation film genre. A native of New York City, Wishman began her film career as a hobby after the death of her husband in 1958. She made her feature debut with ''Hideout in the Sun'' (1960), and went on to direct numerous nudist and sexploitation films, such as ''Gentlemen Prefer Nature Girls'' (1963), '' Behind the Nudist Curtain'' (1963), and ''Bad Girls Go to Hell'' (1965). In the 1970s, she made her first foray into directing pornographic films. In 1979, Wishman filmed her first and only feature horror film, '' A Night to Dismember'', which she spent several years editing after multiple reels were destroyed during post-production. Bobby Astyr (November 14, 1937 – April 7, 2002) was an American pornographic film actor. Prior to becoming involved in pornography, Astyr was a musician. He made his debut in porn in 1974 and appeared in many films, including ''Barbara Broadcast'' in 1977, where he performed as the Maitre d' in an elegant New York City hotel restaurant.
