Sasthipada Chattopadhyay
Sasthipada Chattopadhyay (born 9 March 1941) is an Indian novelist and short story writer in Bengali language, Bengali. He is well known in Bengali literature for the series stories of Pandab Goenda. Career Chattopadhyay was born in 1941 in Khurut, Sasthitala, Howrah district. He published his first literary work ''Kamakhya Bhraman'' in ''Dainik Basumati'' in 1961 and started working in ''Anandabazar Patrika'' under guidance of Ramapada Chowdhury and Sagarmoy Ghosh. Chattopadhyay worked in ''Rabibasoryo'', Anandabazar from 1961. In the meantime, he joined the Indian Railways, Indian Railway service and became posted at Ghatshila. He wrote many novels, travelogue, short stories but became popular and gained recognition for the creation of ''Pandab Goenda'', an adventure detective series for children. Sahitya Akademi
The Sahitya Akademi, India's National Academy of Letters, is an organisation dedicated to the promotion of literature in the languages of India. Founded on 12 March 1954, it is supported by, though independent of, the Indian government. Its office is located in Rabindra Bhavan near Mandi House in Delhi. The Sahitya Akademi organises national and regional workshops and seminars; provides research and travel grants to authors; publishes books and journals, including the ''Encyclopaedia of Indian Literature''; and presents the annual Sahitya Akademi Award of INR. 100,000 in each of the 24 languages it supports, as well as the Sahitya Akademi Fellowship for lifetime achievement.
