Saskatoon Slam
The Saskatoon Slam were a Canadian professional basketball franchise based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, that played in the National Basketball League in 1993 and 1994. Team history Saskatchewan Storm (WBL) The Slam were founded in 1990 as the Saskatchewan Storm of the World Basketball League (WBL). The Storm narrowly lost their first game, 117–115 against the Las Vegas Silver Streaks, in front of a record crowd of more than 8,000. The team did not win a championship but had some notable alumni, including Thomas Lyles, the father of Sacramento Kings player Trey Lyles, and current UC Davis Aggies men's basketball coach Jim Les. The WBL folded before the conclusion of the 1992 season, and the Canadian franchises opted to create a new national league, the National Basketball League (NBL). Youngstown Pride
The Youngstown Pride was a professional basketball team that competed in the World Basketball League during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Based in Youngstown, Ohio, the Pride was established in 1987 by Phar-Mor executive Michael I. Monus and performed well during its five-year lifespan. Jerome (; la, Eusebius Sophronius Hieronymus; grc-gre, Εὐσέβιος Σωφρόνιος Ἱερώνυμος; – 30 September 420), also known as Jerome of Stridon, was a Christian priest, confessor, theologian, and historian; he is commonly known as Saint Jerome. Gary Collier (basketball)
Gary Collier (born October 8, 1971) is a retired American college and professional basketball player who attended the University of Tulsa. Collier played four seasons for the Golden Hurricane and was named the 1994 MVC player of the year. He led the 1994 NCAA Tournament in scoring average with 31.3 points per game. Collier was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2nd round of the 1994 NBA draft; however, he never played in the NBA. He played the 1994–95 season with the Quad City Thunder in the Continental Basketball League. Collier then took his game in Europe. He played his first two seasons for the Antwerp Diamond Giants.
