Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan (born 1953) was elected the 22nd president of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Pakistan on 25 August 2011. Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan was a business tycoon before a politician he owns a trading company, hotels, towers, housing societies, and overseas business. He owns the YK group of companies. Early life Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan was born in 1953 in a village Ali Sojal ( Khai Gala) in Rawalakot tehsil, and brother of renowned figure in political and social scenario of Azad Kashmir Haji Muhammad Zaman Khan. He graduated from Karachi University and started his political career with an ethnic political party Punjabi Pakhtoon Ittehad in Karachi. He joined a Azad Kashmiri political party Tahreek-e-Amil and was elected as senior vice President of this party later on. Muhammad Yaqoob Khan (cropped)
Muhammad ( ar, مُحَمَّد;  570 – 8 June 632 CE) was an Arab religious, social, and political leader and the founder of Islam. According to Islamic doctrine, he was a prophet divinely inspired to preach and confirm the monotheistic teachings of Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and other prophets. He is believed to be the Seal of the Prophets within Islam. Muhammad united Arabia into a single Muslim polity, with the Quran as well as his teachings and practices forming the basis of Islamic religious belief. Muhammad was born approximately 570CE in Mecca. He was the son of Abdullah ibn Abd al-Muttalib and Amina bint Wahb. His father Abdullah was the son of Quraysh tribal leader Abd al-Muttalib ibn Hashim, and he died a few months before Muhammad's birth. Masood Khan () is a Pakistani-Kashmiri diplomat who is currently serving as Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States. Khan also served as the 27th President of Azad Kashmir. Khan joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1980. Raja Muhammad Zulqarnain Khan is a Kashmiri politician who served as the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir from 25 August 2006 to 25 August 2011. He was replaced by Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan. The Legislative Assembly of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, also known as AJK Legislative Assembly, is a unicameral legislature of elected representatives of the Pakistani administered state of Azad Kashmir, which is located in Muzaffarabad, the capital of the state. It was established under the Interim Constitution of AJK having a total of 53 seats, with 41 general seats, while 8 are reserved of which 5 are for women, 1 for Ulama, 1 for Technocrats and 1 for J&K nationals residing abroad. The All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference ( ur, آل جموں و کشمیر مسلم کانفرنس) also shortly referred as Muslim Conference (MC) is a major political party in Pakistan administrated territory of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The party was founded by Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas in the former princely state of Jammu and Kashmir as a splinter group of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference. After the Partition of India, the party supported the accession of the princely state to Pakistan, and instigated the Poonch Rebellion against the Maharaja's government under the leadership of its legislator Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan. Pakistan, after turning the rebellion into an outright invasion, installed Ibrahim Khan as the President of the rebel-conrolled region, called Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
