Sarasota Chalk Festival
Sarasota Chalk Festival is an American cultural event of public art that celebrates a performing art form of pavement art also known as Italy, Italian street painting. It was founded in Sarasota, Florida by Denise Kowal. During the festival artists use chalk, and occasionally special paint, to paint the road surface to create large works of art while the viewer can watch the creative process. The festival is focused around the street artists who are known as Madonnari in Italy or commonly referred to ''Street Painters'', ''Chalk Artists'', ''Sidewalk Artists'', or ''Pavement Artists''. The festival is held annually in downtown Sarasota in Owen Burns (developer), Burns Square. Sarasota () is a city in Sarasota County, Florida, Sarasota County on the Gulf Coast of the U.S. state of Florida. The area is renowned for its cultural and environmental amenities, beaches, resorts, and the Sarasota School of Architecture. The Garbage-Men
The Garbage-Men is an American musical group of youths from Sarasota, Florida teaching sustainability through music. The band promotes recycling, a green eco-friendly message, by playing music on instruments they make from garbage and recycled materials. The Garbage-Men perform their instrumental interpretations of classic hits for audiences large and small at various venues including street festivals, science museums, and charity events. They can often be seen busking on street corners, including a show in Times Square, NYC. Flute
The flute is a family of classical music instrument in the woodwind group. Like all woodwinds, flutes are aerophones, meaning they make sound by vibrating a column of air. Little Red Riding Hood
"Little Red Riding Hood" is a European fairy tale about a young girl and a sly wolf. Its origins can be traced back to several pre-17th century European folk tales. The two best known versions were written by Charles Perrault and the Brothers Grimm. The story has been changed considerably in various retellings and subjected to numerous modern adaptations and readings. Other names for the story are: "Little Red Cap" or simply "Red Riding Hood". It is number 333 in the Aarne–Thompson classification system for folktales. Tale The story revolves around a girl called Little Red Riding Hood. Linear or point-projection perspective (from la, perspicere 'to see through') is one of two types of graphical projection perspective in the graphic arts; the other is parallel projection. Linear perspective is an approximate representation, generally on a flat surface, of an image as it is seen by the eye. Tracy Lee Stum
Tracy Lee Stum is an American artist best known for her 3D street paintings or chalk drawings. She at one point held the Guinness World Record for the Largest Chalk Painting by an Individual. Stum taught herself to draw as a child, and later went on to earn a bachelor's degree at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. She continued her studies in naturalism at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy. She began street painting in 1998. She creates 3D optical illusion art using chalk. In 2006, Stum was recognized with the Guinness World record for the largest street painting by an individual. Later in 2013, she was a contributor to the Cannes Gold Lion award-winning team for their work in a Honda CRV commercial.
