Sarah Kuttner – Die Show
''Sarah Kuttner – Die Show'' was a German television talk show that ran on VIVA and was then transferred to MTV under the title "''Kuttner.''" in mid-2005. It ran from 2 August 2004 to 3 August 2006. Hosted by Sarah Kuttner, it was a more youthful variation on the traditional late show concept with a sidekick, , and various national as well as international celebrity guests. The show also featured humorous reports by Michael Wigge and , its own band and musical guests performing live on stage. When MTV took over other German music channel VIVA in 2004, it was suggested, the show would be cancelled, which drew massive protests from fans. It was then cut from four shows per week to just two shows and later transferred to MTV and renamed ''Kuttner''. Viva (TV Station)
VIVA (abbreviation for: translating to "Video Exploitation Facility") was a German free-to-air music television channel, first broadcast on 1 December 1993. The channel was intended to compete against MTV Europe and was the first German-language music TV channel, while MTV was only broadcast in English until the introduction of MTV Germany in 1997. It was also supposed to focus more on German music and pop culture while MTV only broadcast anglophone music by artists mostly from North America, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia. After years of competition for audience share, MTV Networks Europe eventually acquired VIVA on 14 January 2005 after it had outrun its own efforts for better ratings. MTV operated VIVA channels in Austria, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Poland, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Sarah Kuttner
Sarah Kuttner (born 29 January 1979) is a German television presenter and author. Biography Kuttner was born in Berlin. Her father is famed radio host Jürgen Kuttner. She has regularly appeared on the music television channel VIVA since November 2001 after being selected out of 1500 other participants in a casting held in summer of that year. Her popularity increased rapidly and in August 2004 she started to host her own show called ''Sarah Kuttner – Die Show'', a variation on the popular late show concept with comedy, a sidekick (Sven Schuhmacher), talk guests and musical guests. After Viacom bought VIVA in 2005, her show was moved to MTV Germany and renamed to "Kuttner." with no dramatic changes in concept or crew. Production was relocated from Cologne to Berlin. Michael Wigge
Michael Wigge is a German travel writer, television producer and entertainment personality in Europe and in the United States. Wigge has created several travel documentary programs that were viewed in Europe and the United States. Biography In 2002, Wigge stated working on TV broadcaster VIVA. He also presented comedy clips on the British daily show ''London Calling.'' On that program, Wigge made what was called the longest donkey ride in music television history. On his ride, dressed as Henry VIII, Wigge visited Queen Elizabeth on her 50th jubilee at Buckingham Palace. In 2003, Wigge returned to Germany to work on the comedy program ''The Chancellor’s Bungalow'' on WDR. He portrayed the satirical reporter “Dr. Wigge” doing interviews with the Chancellor of Germany and the President of Germany.
