Sister Sarah Clarke (17 November 1919 – 4 February 2002) was an Irish nun and civil rights campaigner known for her work on prisoner's rights. She began campaigning in 1970, when she joined efforts to free Irish republican prisoners. Over the next three decades she became well known for her activism, particularly after her involvement in high-profile cases like 1973 Old Bailey bombing, the Birmingham Six or the Guildford Four and Maguire Seven. For her activism she was called "the Joan of Arc of British prisons" by Paddy Hill and awarded the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice cross by pope John Paul II. Sarah Louise Clarke (born 28 March 1982) is an English former cricketer who played as an all-rounder. She was a right-arm leg break bowler and right-handed batter. She appeared in six One Day Internationals for England She played county cricket for Surrey from 1999 to 2015. Clarke made her international debut against Scotland in August 2001 and scored 66 * batting at number seven. She and Nicky Shaw shared a stand of 85*, which was at the time a record eighth wicket partnership in Women's One Day Internationals until it was broken by Nilakshi de Silva and Oshadi Ranasinghe for Sri Lanka against England in 2019. Sarah Clarke (born 12 October 1965) is a British administrator. Since 13 February 2018, she has served as Black Rod; the first female Black Rod in the 650-year history of the role. The role is formally, "The Lady Usher of the Black Rod" (for previous incumbents, "Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod"). She is also the first woman to hold the accompanying posts of Serjeant-at-Arms for the House of Lords, Secretary to the Lord Great Chamberlain and to be appointed an Officer of the Order of the Garter. Before taking this role, she was Championships Director in charge of the administration of The Championships, Wimbledon. Sarah Anne Freeman Clarke (1808-1896) was an American painter with a connection to the Boston Transcendentalist Movement. Biography Clarke was born in Massachusetts in 1808. Her brother was the Unitarian minister James Freeman Clarke. She was involved in the Transcendentalist Movement. In 1843 Clarke traveled with her brother James and mutual friend Margaret Fuller to the area of the Great Lakes and the territories of Wisconsin and Illinois. Fuller wrote and Clarke illustrated the journey in the book Summer on the Lakes in 1843. Sarah-Jane Clarke is an Australian designer and one of the founders of Sass & bide. She went to St Aidan's Anglican Girls School, Brisbane in 1992 and then continued her study at Queensland University of Technology to be an accountant. In 2010, Clarke was awarded Australian winners of the Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award. Clarke and Heidi Middleton started their fashion business with a stall of their own designs at 1999 London's Portobello Road Market. Later that year, both of them returned to Sydney and launched their label Sass & bide which on 2008 was sold across in 30 countries. At the initial phase of their business, Clark and Middleton borrowed $70,000 to start their label in Double Bay. After completing junior hospital jobs locally, she chose to specialise in cardiology and trained at the Royal Papworth Hospital and Addenbrooke's Hospital.
