Sara Sugarman
Sara Sugarman (born 13 October 1962) is a Welsh actress and filmmaker whose work includes Disney's ''Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen'' (2004) and ''Very Annie Mary'' (2001). She has also appeared in films including '' Dealers'' (1989) and '' Those Glory Glory Days'' (1983). Biography Sugarman was born in Rhyl, Denbighshire, Wales, into a Jewish family. As a young teenager, she played in a punk outfit called The Fractures, managed by local musician Mike Peters. During this period, she played the rebellious SAG (School Action Group) leader Jessica Samuels in the children's drama TV series ''Grange Hill'' (1978–1979). In London, Sugarman attended both the Arts Educational School and then Barbara Speake Stage School in Acton. Rhyl (; cy, Y Rhyl, ) is a seaside town and community (Wales), community in Denbighshire, Wales. It is based on the true story of Mike Peters and The Alarm who in 2004 released the single " 45 RPM" under the name of a fictitious band "The Poppy Fields". The film features a number of past pop and rock stars in cameo roles, such as Steve Diggle (Buzzcocks), Jynine James, Mike Peters and Tim Sanders (The City Zones), along with the actors Phil Daniels, Keith Allen, Perry Benson, Jamie Blackley and Julia Ford. ''Vinyl'' has a soundtrack written and performed by The Alarm with Mike Peters, Phil Daniels and Keith Allen all making contributions. Hans Uno Jonas Åkerlund (; born 10 November 1965) is a Swedish film director, screenwriter, music video director, and drummer. His video for Madonna's song "Ray of Light" won a Grammy Award for Best Music Video, Short Form, and a record of five awards at 1998 MTV Video Music Awards, including the Video of the Year. In 2008 he won another Grammy Award, this time around for "Best Long Form Music Video" for another work with Madonna – directing "The Confessions Tour" DVD. The Poppy Fields
The Poppy Fields were a fictitious teenage group, invented by the Welsh rock band The Alarm. The Poppy Fields scored a hit with the release of " 45 RPM" that would become The Alarm's first hit in over a decade. Mike Peters revealed the truth on live radio as Radio 1 was conducting a 2004 broadcast of their then current chart countdown. The story was highlighted by international news outlets with several headlines being published globally. Immediately after exposing the hoax, the music video for "45 RPM" was replaced by an edited version that included The Alarm's members alongside the hyped members of The Poppy Fields. Peters had enticed a young band called the Wayriders to lip-sync the song for the music video while posing as members of the nonexistent group.
