Santorso
Santorso is a town in the province of Vicenza, Veneto, northern Italy. It is north of SP350 highway. Santorso is home to several patrician villas: the oldest is the Villa Facci which dates to the 15th century. The church of S. Maria Immacolata was built between 1834 and 1839 in neoclassical style. The Renaissance Villa Floriani houses frescos by the artist Giovanni Demio for display. The 19th century Villa Rossi is owned by the commune of Santorso and. The annexed park, designed by Negrin, includes an aquarium, rare plants and brooks running through lush vegetation to the main lake. It is home to a large live collection of butterflies in a walk through atrium. The park also features train rides, farm animals and children's play areas. Vejano
Vejano is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Viterbo, formerly known as Tuscia, in the Italian region of Latium, located about northwest of Rome and about south of Viterbo on the Mignone river. It is an agricultural village at an altitude of about 400 meters, situated between the hills of Tolfa and Cimini. The main monument of the village is La Rocca, an imposing castle, excavated in tuff rock, with a triangular shape and fortified walls. Originally called Viano, it changed its name to Vejano in 1872. The name possibly comes from Veio, the Etruscan city just to the north of Rome that was defeated by the Romans in 396 BC. Giovanni de Mio or Demio, also called ''il Fratino'' or ''Fratina'' or ''l'Indemio'', (after 1510 in Schio – c. 1570) was an Italian painter and mosaicist of the Renaissance. A sister city or a twin town relationship is a form of legal or social agreement between two geographically and politically distinct localities for the purpose of promoting cultural and commercial ties. Brissago
Brissago () is a municipality in the district of Locarno in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. Brissago lies on the western shore of Lake Maggiore and includes the Brissago Islands. History An ax and ceramic pieces from the Neolithic era as well as Roman coins and other finds, discovered in 1846 in Brenscino, indicate that the area was prehistorically settled. In 1863, during the construction of the main road, some graves were discovered. Fragments of a grave stele with inscriptions were built into the (now destroyed) Church of San Pancrazio on Isola Grande. Brissago is first mentioned in 1289 as ''Brixago''.
