Santa Quiteria, Higueruela
Santa Quiteria is a Neoclassic, Roman Catholic parish church in Higueruela, province of Albacete, Community of Castile-La Mancha, Spain. A hermitage of the same dedication is known from 1592. The church was erected in the 18th century, using designs of Don Lorenzo Alonso Franco, who also created the parish churches in Fuenteálamo, Pétrola and Carcelén. He also worked on the façade of the Tower of Alcalá, and on the remodeling of Santa María del Salvador of Chinchilla. In the crossing spandrels are depictions of the four evangelists. Neoclassical architecture is an architectural style produced by the Neoclassical movement that began in the mid-18th century in Italy and France. It became one of the most prominent architectural styles in the Western world. The prevailing styles of architecture in most of Europe for the previous two centuries, Renaissance architecture and Baroque architecture, already represented partial revivals of the Classical architecture of ancient Rome and (much less) ancient Greek architecture, but the Neoclassical movement aimed to strip away the excesses of Late Baroque and return to a purer and more authentic classical style, adapted to modern purposes. Higueruela
Higueruela () is a municipality located at 43 km east of Albacete, Castile-La Mancha, Spain. It has a population of 1,350. The land surface is around 205.4 km² and its population density is calculated at 6.5/km². The Higueruela Park features 244 Wind turbines and it was the biggest wind farm in the world for some time. The Park was built in 1999, and it has an installed capacity of 161 MW.
