Sanremo Music Festival 2002
The Sanremo Music Festival 2002 was the 52nd annual Sanremo Music Festival, held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, province of Imperia, between 5 and 9 March 2002 and broadcast by Rai 1. The show was presented by Pippo Baudo, assisted by Manuela Arcuri and Vittoria Belvedere. Baudo also served as the artistic director of the Festival. The winner of the Big Artists section was the band Matia Bazar with the song "Messaggio d'amore". Daniele Silvestri won the Mia Martini Critics Award with the song "Salirò". Pippo Baudo
Giuseppe Vittorio Raimondo Baudo (born 7 June 1936), known as Pippo Baudo, is one of the most famous Italian television presenters, with a career spanning six decades. He is often nicknamed "Superpippo" (referencing the Italian name of Super Goof). Baudo has also been the artistic director and president of the Teatro Stabile di Catania. Career Baudo was born in Militello in Val di Catania. While studying law at the University of Catania, he became involved in entertainment as an actor and host. He also learned to play the piano. He graduated with a degree in law, despite his interest in entertainment. At the end of the 1950s, he became a singer and pianist for Orchestra Moonlight. Luisa Corna (born 2 December 1965) is an Italian television presenter, singer, model, and actress. Gaetano "Nino" D'Angelo (born 21 June 1957) is an Italian singer, songwriter, actor, television personality, film director, screenwriter and author. He was born to a poor family in San Pietro a Patierno, a suburb of Naples, and dropped out of school, taking jobs like ice cream vendor and wedding singer. Maurizio Fabrizio (born 16 March 1952) is an Italian composer, conductor, arranger, producer, musician and singer-songwriter. Life and career Born in Milan, after studying at the conservatory in 1969 Fabrizio became a member of the La Scala orchestra as a percussionist under the direction of Claudio Abbado. Alessandro Safina () is an Italian operatic pop tenor. Born in Siena, Italy, Safina has sought to combine his interests in opera and modern pop music. Michele Zarrillo
Michele Zarrillo (born 13 June 1957) is an Italian singer-songwriter. He is mainly known for hits such as "Una rosa blu" (A blue rose), "Cinque giorni" (Five days), L'elefante e la farfalla (The elephant and the butterfly) and "La notte dei pensieri" (The night of thoughts). Gazosa are an Italian teen band, best known for the song "www.mipiacitu". Lucio Quarantotto (29 April 1957 – 31 July 2012) was an Italian songwriter best known for writing the lyrics for "Con te partirò" ("With you, I will leave"), to music composed by Francesco Sartori for Andrea Bocelli. The song was also recorded as a duet entitled "Time to Say Goodbye" by Bocelli and Sarah Brightman.
