''Sankoch'' () is a 1976 Indian Hindi-language drama film, produced by R. K. Soral on Suyog Films banner and directed by Anil Ganguly. Starring Jeetendra, Sulakshana Pandit and music composed by Kalyanji–Anandji. The movie is based on the novel '' Parineeta'' by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. Plot Navin Babu (Om Shivpuri) & Gurucharan ( A.K.Hangal) are neighbors. Though Gurucharan already had a large family to support on a meager salary, he did not hesitate to bring home his orphan niece, Lalita (Sulakshana Pandit) probably because a lower-middle-class man has an incredible capacity to share hunger. ''Sulakshana Pandit'' is an Indian playback singer and former Bollywood leading lady belonging to the Mewati Gharana. Career Sulakshana's career as an actress spanned the 1970s and early '80s. As a leading lady she has worked with most of the top actors of the 1970s like Jeetendra, Sanjeev Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, Vinod Khanna, Shashi Kapoor and Shatrughan Sinha. Anil Ganguly
Anil Ganguly (26 January 1933 – 15 January 2016) was an Indian film director and screenwriter, who worked in Hindi cinema from 1970s to 2001. He is best known for Jaya Bhaduri starrer, ''Kora Kagaz'' (1974) and the Rakhee Gulzar, Rakhee starrer ''Tapasya (1976 film), Tapasya'' (1975), both of which won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. He is also known for his films with Rakhee like Trishna (1978 film), Trishna, Aanchal (1980 film), Aanchal, Saaheb (1985). Later in his career, after 1986 he made seven films none of which succeeded. Om Shivpuri
Om Shivpuri (14 July 1938 – 15 October 1990) was an Indian theatre actor-director and character actor in Hindi films. A National School of Drama, New Delhi alumnus, Shivpuri became the first chief of the National School of Drama Repertory Company (1964) and one of its actors. He later founded an important theatre group of its era in New Delhi, Dishantar. Early life Born in Patiala, Om Shivpuri started his career by working at Jalandhar Radio Station, where Sudha Shivpuri (who later became his wife) was working at the time. Dulari (real name Ambika Gautam) (18 April 1928 – 18 January 2013) was an Indian actress, who worked as character actor in Hindi cinema, appearing in 135 films, most notably ''Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai'' (1961), ''Mujhe Jeene Do'' (1963), ''Teesri Kasam'' (1966), ''Padosan'' (1968) and ''Deewaar'' (1975). Jankidas Mehra (1910 – 18 June 2003) was an Indian actor of Hindi cinema, cyclist, production designer, and writer. He made over 1000 film appearances between the 1930s and 1997. Biography Sports Jankidas served as the only Indian member of the International Olympic Committee at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin along with Hockey legend Major Dhyanchand and was the only Indian to have broken the world record in cycling between 1934 and 1942. ''Parineeta'' ( bn, পরিণীতা ''Porinita'') is a 1914 Bengali language novel written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay and is set in Calcutta, India during the early part of the 20th century. It is a novel of social protest which explores issues of that time period related to class and religion. Title The word ''Parineeta'' is translated in English as ''married woman''. Kalyanji–Anandji are an Indian composer duo: Kalyanji Virji Shah (30 June 1928 – 24 August 2000) and his brother Anandji Virji Shah (born 2 March 1933). Ravi Kapoor ( ; born 7 April 1942), known mononymously by his screen name Jeetendra, is an Indian actor who is known for his work in Hindi cinema. He also serves as the chairman of the Balaji Telefilms and Balaji Motion Pictures. Early life Jeetendra was born in a Punjabi Khatri family as Ravi Kapoor in Amritsar, Punjab, to Amarnath and Krishna Kapoor, whose business dealt with imitation jewellery, supplied to film industry.
