Sanjukta Mukti Fouj
Sanjukta Mukti Fouj (SMF) ( Assamese: সংযুক্ত মুক্তি ফৌজ) is the military wing of the banned outfit ULFA in Assam, India. It was formed on March 16, 1996 and it has three full-fledged battalions – the 7th, 28th and 709th with allocated spheres of operation in HQ- Sukhni, Tinsukia/Dibrugarh and Kalikhota respectively. The rest of the battalions are said to exist only on papers. Battalions This is a list of the battalions along with their allocated operation-spheres. Ceasefire of 28th Battalion On June 24, 2008, the A and C company of ULFA's 28th battalion offered unilateral ceasefire and renamed themselves as “ULFA (Pro-Talk)”. 28th Battalion (ULFA)
The 28th Battalion was the most potent strike group of the ULFA, the banned separatist group of Assam. The 28 Battalion was headed by late hardcore militant leader Tapan Baruah. It is also called the Kashmir Camp. It has its headquarters in Myanmar (Burma). At the time of decisive, it consisted of three companies – Alpha (A), led by Jiten Dutta alias Moon Bora, Bravo (B) led by Sujit Mahan and Charlie (C), led by Jone Bhuyan(disputed). Bhomita Talukdar ( Assamese: ভমিতা তালুকদাৰ), alias Deepali, was the organisational secretary of the women's wing of ULFA. She is also the wife of Arun Mahanta, a hardcore ULFA militant of Barpeta. She was arrested on 7 August 2003, by the troops of Red Horns Division from the village Jangrinpara located in general area Fatimabad of Barpeta. SULFA
Sulfonamide is a functional group (a part of a molecule) that is the basis of several groups of drugs, which are called sulphonamides, sulfa drugs or sulpha drugs. Naba Kumar Saraniya alias Heera Saraniya, also spelled as Heera Sarania and Hira Sarania, alias Naba Deka is an Indian politician who is currently a Member of parliament, Lok Sabha. Drishti Rajkhowa ( Assamese: দৃষ্টি ৰাজখোৱা) alias Drishti Asom, (Real name: Manoj Rabha) was the Commander of the 109 battalion of ULFA until 2011, the banned outlawed group of Assam. Tinsukia (Pron: ˌtɪnˈsʊkiə) is an industrial town. It is situated north-east of Guwahati and away from the border with Arunachal Pradesh.
