''Sangeetha Sagara Ganayogi Panchakshara Gavai'' is a 1995 Indian Kannada-language biographical film, directed by Chindodi Bangaresh and produced by Chindodi Leela. Starring Lokesh in the titular role, the film also featured Girish Karnad and Vijay Raghavendra in other pivotal roles. The film is based on the life of Panchakshara Gawai (1892 - 1944), who was a blind singer from Karnataka who made a great difference to the life of many blind people in Indian society. The film, upon release was critically acclaimed and won multiple awards both at the National and State levels. The musical score composed and written by Hamsalekha was highly acclaimed. Chindodi Leela
Chindodi Leela (1943 – 21 January 2010) was an Indian stage and film actress, politician, and writer from Karnataka. Family Leela was born in 1943 at Davangere, Karnataka into a family of professional theater artists. Her father Chindodi Veerappa had established the K.B.R. Drama Company in 1928. Her first play was at the age of 8 as young Siddharama in the play Shivayogi Siddharama (1951) Over 10,000 performances were held of a play she wrote, ''Halli Hudugi'', with which she revived her family's drama company, making it one of the biggest professional drama troupes in Karnataka. Shishunala Sharif
Muhammad Sharif was an Indian social reformer, philosopher and poet. Birth and early life Santa Shishunala Sharifa was born on 7 March 1819 in Shishuvinahala, a village in Shigganvi (now Shiggaon) taluk (in Haveri district), Karnataka. He was the son of an Imam Saheb, who was a disciple of Hajaresha Qadri, whose dream was to unite Hinduism and Islam. Hajaresha Qadri used to give “Linga Deeksha”, or initiation by tying a linga around the neck of a disciple, as per the Lingayat tradition.
