Sandy Coast
Sandy Coast was a Dutch rock band fronted by Hans Vermeulen (1947–2017); they were successful in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The band's biggest hits include "Just a Friend" and "True Love (That's a Wonder)" in The Netherlands. Biography 1961-1974; success years Vermeulen formed the band in 1961 as Sandy Coast Skiffle Group; his bass-playing brother Jan Vermeulen (1945-1999) joined and on his insistence they became Sandy Coast Rockers. The name was eventually abbreviated to Sandy Coast. They performed at community-centers and talent-contests; in 1965 they won a record-contract at Negram and released their debut-single "Being in love". Their fourth single, a 1966 cover-version of Vera Lynn's "We'll Meet Again" (completely based on vocals and harmonies and instruments arrangement on The Byrds version from 1965) gave them their first taste of chart-success. ''Small Faces'' is the debut album of Small Faces, released in May 1966 by Decca Records. It includes the hit singles "Whatcha Gonna Do About It" and "Sha-La-La-La-Lee". The album was well received by music critics and was popular with the public, rising to number 3 on the UK album chart remaining at the top for several weeks. It also reached number 8 in Finland. Album profile The album was recorded at IBC Studios, Portland Place, London between June 1965 and February 1966. Glyn Johns was the studio engineer. In 1966, Small Faces became the eleventh biggest selling artists of the year. Jimmy Winston was asked to leave after the band's second single "I've Got Mine", released on 5 November 1965, failed to make the charts. He still appears on many tracks on this album, including joint writing contributions to "It's Too Late" and providing keyboards and vocals on various tracks. Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. Ultratop is a non-profit organization, created on the initiative of the Belgian Entertainment Association (BEA), the Belgian member organization of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. Two parallel sets of charts are concurrently produced and published, one on behalf of Belgium's mainly Dutch-speaking Flanders region, and the other catering to the nation's mainly French-speaking region of Wallonia. Dutch Single Top 100
The Dutch Single Top 100 or Single Top 100 is a Dutch chart, based on official physical single sales, legal downloads and since July 2013 streaming and composed by Dutch Charts. It is one of the three official charts, the other two being the Dutch Top 40 and the Mega Top 30. The difference is that these charts also include airplay data. The list is especially intended for the music industry and those who take an interest in charts. The Dutch Top 40 ( nl, Nederlandse Top 40) is a weekly music chart compiled by ''Stichting Nederlandse Top 40''. It started as a radio program titled "Veronica Top 40", on the offshore station Radio Veronica in 1965. It remained "The Veronica Top 40" until 1974, when the station was forced to stop broadcasting. Joost den Draaijer initiated the Top 40 in the Netherlands. The show currently airs on Fridays from 2 to 6 PM on Qmusic. History On January 2, 1965, the first Top 40 was compiled, with its first #1 hit "''I Feel Fine''" by The Beatles. Rainbow Train
A rainbow is a meteorological phenomenon that is caused by reflection, refraction and dispersion of light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky. It takes the form of a multicoloured circular arc. Rainbows caused by sunlight always appear in the section of sky directly opposite the Sun. Rainbows can be full circles. However, the observer normally sees only an arc formed by illuminated droplets above the ground, and centered on a line from the Sun to the observer's eye. In a primary rainbow, the arc shows red on the outer part and violet on the inner side.
