Sandra Bailie
Sandra Hazel Bailie (born 1960) is a Northern Irish international lawn and indoor bowler. Bowls career Outdoor career In 2009, she won the fours bronze medal at the Atlantic Bowls Championships and in 2015 she won the triples gold medal at the Atlantic Bowls Championships. She won the 2016 (pairs), 2012 & 2016 (triples) and 2008, 2011 & 2014 fours titles at the Irish National Bowls Championships bowling for the Knock Bowls Club. In 2016, she was selected as part of the Northern Ireland team for the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Queensland. In 2022, Bailie won her seventh national title while bowling for NI Civil Service. She won the pairs with Alison Morris. Alison Merrien
Alison Jayne Merrien (born 28 November 1974) is an indoor bowls player from Saint Peter Port, Guernsey. Bowls career Indoors Merrien won double gold in the women's singles defeating Karen Murphy and the mixed pairs with Simon Skelton the 2011 World Indoor Bowls Championship. She won a third medal eight years later in 2019 losing out to Julie Forrest of Scotland in the final. In 2022, she finally claimed a third title when winning the mixed pairs with Paul Foster and also reached the women's singles final. In the southern hemisphere equivalent the World Cup Singles she has won two titles in 2008 and 2012 and has finished runner up on three more occasions. In 2022, Merrien won the mixed pairs at the inaugural World Bowls Indoor Championships, partnering Stewart Anderson, they defeated Michael Stepney and Claire Anderson in the final. Paul James Foster (born 13 March 1973) is a multiple world bowls champion who lives in Troon, Scotland. He plays at Troon Portland (Outdoor) & Ambassador Prestwick (Indoor) bowling clubs. Bowling career Indoor career Foster is the second most prolific winner of the World Indoor Championship singles title, behind six-times winner, pairs partner and close friend Alex Marshall. 2022 World Indoor Bowls Championship
The 2022 Just World Indoor Bowls Championship took place at Potters Leisure Resort, Hopton-on-Sea, Great Yarmouth, England, from 7–23 January 2022. The event is organised by the World Bowls Tour, and will be televised by the BBC and streamed live on YouTube. The Open Singles was won by the sixth seed Les Gillett who overcame five times champion Paul Foster. Gillett won the first set by virtue of overtaking Foster's lead during the final ends. Foster comfortably won the second set before Gillett won the tie break. Katherine Rednall won a record breaking fourth women's singles title.
