San Policarpo all'Acquedotto Claudio is a parochial church in Rome and titular church for a Cardinal-Priest. It is named for the Aqua Claudia aqueduct nearby, and for Polycarp, a 2nd-century AD saint and writer. Parish church The church was built in 1967 for a parish which was created in 1960, in East Rome's XXth prefecture. It is located on Piazza Aruleno Celio Sabino 50, Roma, Roma, Lazio 00174 at the Via Lemonia. Pope John Paul II visited the church twice, on 2 May 1982 and 11 March 1990. Aqua Claudia
Aqua Claudia ("the Claudian water") was an ancient Roman aqueduct that, like the Aqua Anio Novus, was begun by Emperor Caligula (37–41 AD) in 38 AD and finished by Emperor Claudius (41–54 AD) in 52 AD. Together with Aqua Anio Novus, Aqua Anio Vetus and Aqua Marcia, it is regarded as one of the "four great aqueducts of Rome". Route Its mainsprings, the Caeruleus and Curtius, were situated 300 paces to the left of the 38th milestone of the Via Sublacensis. The total length was approximately , most of which was underground. The flow was about in 24 hours (about ). Directly after its filtering tank, near the seventh mile of the Via Latina, it finally emerged onto arches, which increase in height as the ground falls toward the city, reaching over . In the Catholic Church, a titular church is a church in Rome that is assigned to a member of the clergy who is created a cardinal. These are Catholic churches in the city, within the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Rome, that serve as honorary designations symbolising the relationship of cardinals to the pope, the bishop of Rome. According to the 1983 Code of Canon Law, a cardinal may assist his titular church through counsel or through patronage, although "he has no power of governance over it, and he should not for any reason interfere in matters concerning the administration of its good, or its discipline, or the service of the church". Alberto Suárez Inda (born 30 January 1939) is a Mexican prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as Archbishop of Morelia from 1995 to 2016. Biography Alberto Suárez Inda was born in Celaya in Mexico on 30 January 1939. He studied humanities in Morelia and then attended the Pontifical Latin American College in Rome from 1958 until 1965. He was ordained to the priesthood on 8 August 1964 and began serving as a vicar in Morelia and in Pátzcuaro. He also taught before becoming a parish priest for a newly-established parish in his hometown. He later served as the rector for the minor seminary in Celaya from 1974 until his appointment to the episcopate in 1985 when Pope John Paul II named him as the Bishop of Tacámbaro.
