San Juan Bautista Atatlahuca is a town and municipality in Oaxaca in south-western Mexico. The municipality covers an area of 196.48 km². It is part of the Etla District in the Valles Centrales region. As of 2005, the municipality had a total population of 1,384. History Also spelled Atlatlahuca in the early 16th century it was the domain of the Cuicatecans who were tributary subjects of the Mexica. The Central Valleys ( es, Valles Centrales) of Oaxaca, also simply known as the Oaxaca Valley, is a geographic region located within the modern-day state of Oaxaca in southern Mexico.
