San Fermin (band)
San Fermin is an American indie rock collective, led by Brooklyn-based composer and songwriter Ellis Ludwig-Leone. Known for combining indie rock, pop, and Classical music, classical influences into lush compositions, they released their San Fermin (album), self-titled debut album on Downtown Records in 2013. This was followed by the records ''Jackrabbit'' and ''Belong'' in 2015 and 2017, respectively. Their fourth album, a double album titled ''The Cormorant I & II'', was released in full in March 2020. San Fermin generally perform as an eight-piece group, pairing traditional rock instrumentation (electric guitar, keyboards, drums) with baritone saxophone, trumpet, and violin. SXSW
South by Southwest, abbreviated as SXSW and colloquially referred to as South By, is an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences organized jointly that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States. It began in 1987 and has continued to grow in both scope and size every year. In 2017, the conference lasted for 10 days with the interactive track lasting for five days, music for seven days, and film for nine days. There was no in-person event in 2020 and 2021 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Austin, Texas; both years, there was a smaller online event instead. ''The Cormorant I & II'', also referred to as ''The Cormorant,'' is the fourth studio album released by American band San Fermin. The album was released in two parts, functioning as a thematic double album. The first half, ''The Cormorant I'', was released in late 2019 and the second half was released in combination with ''I'' as ''The Cormorant I & II'' in March 2020. These were the first records to be released under the band's new imprint Better Company, in partnership with Sony Music. This album was the first release with the group's new vocalist Karlie Bruce and saw an expanded singing role for Claire Wellin. Pavo Pavo is an American indie pop quintet from Brooklyn, New York, United States, formed in 2015 and consisting of Eliza Bagg (vocals, violin, synthesizers), Oliver Hill (vocals, guitar, synthesizers), Ian Romer (vocals, bass), Peter Coccoma (guitar), and Noah Hecht (drums). Antony And The Johnsons
Antony and the Johnsons is an American music group presenting the work of Anohni and her collaborators. Career British experimental musician David Tibet of Current 93 heard a demo and offered to release Anohni's music through his Durtro label. Anohni started the band, its name inspired by trans activist Marsha P. Johnson. The debut album, ''Antony and the Johnsons'', was released in 1998. In 2001, while still known as Antony Hegarty, Anohni/Hegarty released a short follow-up EP, ''I Fell in Love with a Dead Boy'', which, in addition to the title track, included a cover of "Mysteries of Love", a David Lynch/Angelo Badalamenti song and "Soft Black Stars", a Current 93 cover.
