San Fermin (album)
''San Fermin'' is the self-titled debut album by chamber pop collective San Fermin. It was developed, written, and produced by composer Ellis Ludwig-Leone and performed by a loose collection of New York-based musicians who performed Ludwig-Leone's composition under the name San Fermin. An official band came about after the recording of the record. San Fermin received critical acclaim from outlets including ''NPR'' and ''Pitchfork''. Development After graduating from Yale in 2011, Ludwig-Leone retreated to Canada's secluded Banff Centre, where he wrote what would eventually become ''San Fermin.'' He wrote most of the record between October and December 2011. He returned to New York and began recording the album, completing the recording sessions during July 2012. San Fermin is an American indie rock collective, led by Brooklyn-based composer and songwriter Ellis Ludwig-Leone. Known for combining indie rock, pop, and classical influences into lush compositions, they released their self-titled debut album on Downtown Records in 2013. Caroline Adelaide Shaw (born August 1, 1982) is an American composer, violinist, and singer. She was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Music in 2013 for her a cappella piece ''Partita for 8 Voices'' and the 2022 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Classical Composition for her ''Narrow Sea''. Early life and education Shaw was born in Greenville, North Carolina, and began playing the violin when she was two years old. Her mother was her first teacher. She began writing music when she was 10 years old, mostly in imitation of the chamber music of Mozart and Brahms. At the time, her main focus was on violin performance. Jessica Wolfe is an American singer, songwriter, bass synth player and actress from Los Angeles, California. She is a founding member along with Holly Laessig of the indie pop musical group Lucius. Nadia Sirota (born in New York) is an American viola player. Her father is Robert Sirota, a composer and conductor. Rob Moose
Rob Moose (born 1982) is an American multi-instrumentalist, arranger, producer, conductor, and orchestrator. He primarily plays the violin, viola, and guitar. Early life and education Moose was born in 1982. He was raised in Windsor, Connecticut and learned piano and violin at The Hartt School. He attended the Loomis Chaffee School through 10th grade, before moving with his family to Moorestown, New Jersey. He completed high school at Moorestown Friends School, graduating in 2000. Allen Tate (musician)
Allen Tate (born June 9, 1989) is an American vocalist, record producer, and songwriter based in Brooklyn, New York. Since 2012, he has been a singer of San Fermin, the indie-rock band led by composer Ellis Ludwig-Leone. As a producer, he has collaborated with artists including San Fermin, Wild Pink, The Districts, Daisy the Great, and Hypoluxo among others. In 2020, he and Ludwig-Leone co-founded their label Better Company Records, a joint venture with The Orchard. Tate's debut solo project, ''Sleepwalker'', co-produced by Ludwig-Leone, was released on October 28, 2016.
