The San Bernardino Pioneers were a minor league baseball team, that played in the Sunset League from 1947 to 1950. They originated as the Anaheim Valencias and were located in Anaheim, California. On June 25, 1948, they moved to San Bernardino, California and the following season became the Pioneers. Sunset League
The Sunset League was a minor league baseball circuit that operated from 1947 through 1950. The Sunset League was a Class C level league, with franchises based in the United States and Mexico. The league expanded from six to eight teams from 1949 to 1950. There was a previous league called the "Sunset League" that briefly played in Texas in the 1902 season. For the 1951 season, the circuit merged with the Arizona–Texas League to form the Southwest International League. Fiscalini Field
Fiscalini Field is a stadium in San Bernardino, California, USA. Over the years, the stadium was the spring training homes of the Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Browns (now the Baltimore Orioles) and was the home field for the San Bernardino Stars and the San Bernardino Pioneers. Glover Stadium/Dee Fee Field is a stadium in Anaheim, California located in La Palma Park. It is a combined multi-purpose stadium primarily used for baseball and football in addition to soccer. The seating capacity for baseball is 700 and 5,200 for football and soccer. History Stadium construction began on December 16, 1937 and was completed in March 1939. The original name of the stadium was the same as the park in which it is located, La Palma Park. Funding for the stadium was provided by the Works Progress Administration. The stadium was renovated in 1956 with the Anaheim City Council deciding it would be cheaper to add grandstands to La Palma Park rather than to build a new football stadium.
