Samuel A. Tamposi
Samuel A. Tamposi (August 31, 1924 – May 25, 1995) was a prominent real estate developer and Republican Party activist from New Hampshire. He is best known for his work in the Nashua, New Hampshire and Citrus Hills, Florida areas, and for his friendship with Ted Williams, and association with the Boston Red Sox. Tamposi played an integral role in bringing many Fortune 500 companies to New Hampshire, such as Fidelity Investments, Anheuser Busch, Coca-Cola, Raytheon, Sylvania, Sun Chemical, Kollsman Instruments and Honeywell. Citrus Hills is a census-designated place (CDP) in Citrus County, Florida, United States. The population was 7,470 at the 2010 census, up from 4,029 in 2000. The CDP takes its name from The Villages of Citrus Hills, a master-planned community first developed by Gerald Nash and Sam Tamposi in the 1970s. (Although sharing a similar name with The Villages, the well-known giant Central Florida retirement community, the two developments are not related.) Kollsman Instruments
Paul Kollsman (February 22, 1900 in Germany – September 26, 1982 in Beverly Hills, California) was a German-American inventor. He invented the first sensitive barometer, a key enabler of instrument flight in airplanes. The United States Patent Office cites him as the inventor on 124 patents. Biography Kollsman studied engineering and science in Stuttgart and Munich. In 1923 he emigrated from Germany to the United States, following his younger brother Ernest Otto Kollsman, who had emigrated earlier. He worked as a truck driver or truck driver's assistant until he found a position at Pioneer Instruments Co. in Brooklyn, New York, where he learned to make various aircraft instruments.
