	Sammy Rogers Samantha 'Sammy' Rogers (also Daniels) is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera ''Brookside'', played by Rachael Lindsay. The character debuted on-screen during the episode broadcast on 7 December 1987. Sammy was introduced as part of the Rogers family consisting of parents Frank ( Peter Christian) and Chrissy Rogers (Eithne Brown) and their three children Sammy, Katie Rogers (Debbie Reynolds/Diane Burke) and Geoff Rogers (Kevin Carson). Lindsay secured the role in 1987 after she learned that ''Brookside'' was auditioning for a new family. 	Phil Redmond Sir Philip Redmond (born 10 June 1949) is an English television producer and screenwriter from Huyton, England. He is known for creating the television series ''Grange Hill'', ''Brookside'' and ''Hollyoaks''. Early life Redmond took the 11-plus and passed, but attended St Kevin's RC School in Northwood, Kirkby (it became All Saints Catholic High School, Kirkby). His mother was a cleaner and his father was a bus driver. He left school with four O-levels and one A-level and trained to become a quantity surveyor. 	David Yip David Nicholas Yip (; born 4 June 1951) is a British actor of Chinese and English descent. He gained prominence through his lead role in the BBC series ''The Chinese Detective''. Early life Yip was born in Liverpool to a Chinese father, a seaman from Canton, and an English mother from Liverpool. He has six brothers and had a working class upbringing. After leaving school at 16, Yip worked as a shipping clerk for British Railways for 2 years. At 18, he was offered a job as an assistant stage manager by Teresa Collard at the Neptune Theatre.
