Sanya
Sanya (; also spelled Samah) is the southernmost city on Hainan Island, and one of the four prefecture-level cities of Hainan Province in South China. According to the 2020 census, the total population of Sanya was 1,031,396 inhabitants, living in an area of . Nevertheless, its built-up (or metro) area encompassing Haitang and Jiyang Districts was home to 801,020 inhabitants as of 2020. The city is renowned for its tropical climate and has emerged as a popular tourist destination, also serving as the training site of the Chinese national beach volleyball team. Sanya is home to small concentrations of Utsul people. Samah People
The Sama-Bajau include several Austronesian ethnic groups of Maritime Southeast Asia. The name collectively refers to related people who usually call themselves the Sama or Samah (formally A'a Sama, "Sama people"); or are known by the exonym Bajau (, also spelled Badjao, Bajaw, Badjau, Badjaw, Bajo or Bayao). They usually live a seaborne lifestyle and use small wooden sailing vessels such as the ''perahu'' (''layag'' in Meranau), '' djenging'' (''balutu''), '' lepa'', and '' vinta'' (''pilang''). Some Sama-Bajau groups native to Sabah are also known for their traditional horse culture. The Sama-Bajau are the dominant ethnic group of the islands of Tawi-Tawi in the Philippines. They are also found in other islands of the Sulu Archipelago, coastal areas of Mindanao, northern and eastern Borneo, Sulawesi, and throughout the eastern Indonesian islands. Borhan Abu Samah
Borhan Abu Samah (30 November 1964 – 29 October 1999) was a Singaporean footballer who played for the Singapore national team in the 1990s. He was a left-back best known for his hard-tackling and "bulldog" style of play, earning himself the nickname of the "Russian Tank". He made his international debut against Indonesia on 4 April 1987. He was part of the Pahang squad which won the Malaysian League and Malaysia Cup double in the 1992 FAM League season. He achieved the double again playing for the Singapore Lions in 1994. Hamzah Abu Samah
Hamzah bin Abu Samah (5 January 1924 – 4 September 2012) was a Malaysian politician, lawyer and sports administrator who served as the president of Asian Football Confederation from 9 December 1978 to 1 August 1994. In 2006, he was conferred the FIFA Order of Merit for his contribution towards Asian football. He also one of the fourth Malaysian to join the exclusive club of AFC Diamond of Asia Award with Dato' Seri Najib Tun Razak, Sultan Ahmad Shah and Sultan Abdullah. Biography Hamzah was educated at Malay College Kuala Kangsar. He went on to study law at Gray's Inn in England. He became a Member of Parliament representing Raub (1967–1978) and Temerloh (1978–1980) in Dewan Rakyat, Malaysia's parliament.
