Salvo
A salvo is the simultaneous discharge of artillery or firearms including the firing of guns either to hit a target or to perform a salute. As a tactic in warfare, the intent is to cripple an enemy in one blow and prevent them from fighting back. Overview Troops armed with muzzleloaders required time to refill their arms with gunpowder and shot. Gun drills were designed to enable an almost continuous rain of fire on the enemy by lining troops into ranks, allowing one rank to fire a salvo, or volley, while the other ranks prepared their guns for firing. The term is commonly used to describe the firing of broadsides by warships, especially battleships. San Salvo ( Abruzzese: ') is a ''comune'' and town in the Province of Chieti in the Abruzzo region of Italy. It is the last Abruzzo town on the Adriatic coast before entering the Molise Region. Salvo (detergent)
Salvo was an American laundry detergent of the mid 20th century. It was made in the form of large beveled discs of compressed powdered laundry detergent that could be chucked directly into the washing machine. It was the first such product, and thus the precursor of the detergent pods of the later 20th century and 21st century. Salvo was launched by Procter & Gamble in the early or mid 1960s. It was not successful, due at least in part to the failure of the discs to entirely dissolve, and was discontinued in 1974. The Salvo brand name continues to be used by Procter & Gamble, but for a dish detergent rather than a laundry detergent. Salvo (formerly Pain) is a 14-member band from the southeastern United States. Originally formed by Alabama high school friends, Pain played punk rock, toured worldwide, and released four albums. Though the group was effectively in stasis after the bandleader left, they reformed in 2019 as Salvo and released a new album called ''Off the Charts''.
