Salvador is an underground metro station on the Line 1 of the Santiago Metro, in Santiago, Chile. The station is located beneath the Balmaceda Park and close to Salvador Avenue, which is named for the Hospital del Salvador. Escuela Militar Metro Station
Escuela Militar is an underground metro station on the Line 1 of the Santiago Metro, in Santiago, Chile, Santiago, Chile. It is located beneath the cloverleaf-like interchange of Apoquindo Avenue and Américo Vespucio Avenue. The station was opened on 22 August 1980 as part of the extension of the line from Salvador metro station, Salvador to Escuela Militar. It remained the eastern terminus of the Line 1 until 7 January 2010, when the line was extended to Los Dominicos metro station, Los Dominicos, and is named for the nearby Escuela Militar del Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins. La Moneda is a station on the Santiago Metro in Santiago, Chile. It is underground, between the stations Los Héroes and Universidad de Chile on the same line. Hospital Del Salvador
The Hospital del Salvador is a hospital in central Santiago, Chile. The hospital is located in the commune of Providencia. History The hospital was founded on December 7, 1871, during the presidency of Federico Errázuriz Zañartu, in response to the high number of deaths caused by epidemics in Santiago. The foundation stone was laid on the site of the former Mercedarian convent on January 1, 1872. Construction was delayed by economic problems and by the War of the Pacific (1879–84). In 1888 a new hospital was designed by the architect Carlos Barroilhet, it was approved four years later. Part of the hospital facade was destroyed by the 1985 Chile earthquake, this was soon repaired. Also in 1985, the main facade, the chapel, the buildings, halls and the park within the building complex were declared as historical monuments. Balmaceda Park
Balmaceda Park is an urban park along the Mapocho River in Providencia, Santiago de Chile. It was originally created under the name of Parque Japonés (Japanese Park) in 1930. When Chile joined the Allies during the World War II, its name was changed to Parque Gran Bretaña (Great Britain Park). Afterwards, the name was changed to its current name. The park is adjacent to Plaza Baquedano. Toward the west, the park continues into Santiago as Parque Forestal. The Santiago Metro ( es, Metro de Santiago) is a rapid transit system serving the city of Santiago, the capital of Chile. It currently consists of seven lines (numbered 1-6 and 4A), 136 stations, and of revenue route. The system is managed by the state-owned Metro S.A. and is the first and only rapid transit system in the country. The Santiago Metro carries around 2.5 million passengers daily. This figure represents an increase of more than a million passengers per day compared to 2007, when the ambitious Transantiago project was launched, in which the metro plays an important role in the public transport system serving the city.
