Salmon River (Fraser River)
The Salmon River is a tributary of the Fraser River in the Central Interior of British Columbia, Canada, flowing southeast to meet that river to the west of Eaglet Lake, to the north of the city of Prince George. The community of Salmon Valley is located in its basin. It was formerly known as the Little Salmon River. The nearby McGregor River was originally named the Big Salmon River. ASTER Global Digital Elevation Model
The Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) is a Japanese remote sensing instrument onboard the Terra satellite launched by NASA in 1999. It has been collecting data since February 2000. ASTER provides high-resolution images of Earth in 14 different bands of the electromagnetic spectrum, ranging from visible to thermal infrared light. The resolution of images ranges between 15 and 90 meters. ASTER data is used to create detailed maps of surface temperature of land, emissivity, reflectance, and elevation. In April 2008, the SWIR detectors of ASTER began malfunctioning and were publicly declared non-operational by NASA in January 2009. McGregor River
The McGregor River is a tributary of the Fraser River in the Canadian province of British Columbia. The McGregor River was named for the Provincial Land Surveyor Captain James Herrick McGregor, who fought and died in 1915 at the Second Battle of Ypres, in Belgian Flanders.
