Salburun
Salburun (Kyrgyz : Салбуурун) is a traditional kind of hunt in Kyrghyzstan and Central Asia, involving falconry, archery and sometimes mounted archery, as well as hunting with Taigan. At the end of Salburun contests, the winners of the different disciplines receive an award; the main disciplines are: :* Hunting with eagles, :* Hunting with Taigan, :* Taigan races, :* Mounted archery. Worldwide Nomad Games
World Nomad Games ( ky, Дүйнөлүк көчмөндөр оюндары) are an international sport competition dedicated to ethnic sports practiced in Central Asia. The first three World Nomad Games were held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan. The fourth games were held in Iznik, Turkey between September 29th and October 2nd 2022. Kyrgyz People
The Kyrgyz people (also spelled Kyrghyz, Kirgiz, and Kirghiz; ) are a Turkic ethnic group native to Central Asia. Falconry
Falconry is the hunting of wild animals in their natural state and habitat by means of a trained bird of prey. Small animals are hunted; squirrels and rabbits often fall prey to these birds. Two traditional terms are used to describe a person involved in falconry: a "falconer" flies a falcon; an "austringer" (Old French origin) flies a hawk (''Accipiter'', some buteos and similar) or an eagle ('' Aquila'' or similar). Mounted Archery
A horse archer is a cavalryman armed with a bow and able to shoot while riding from horseback. Archery has occasionally been used from the backs of other riding animals. In large open areas, it was a highly successful technique for hunting, for protecting the herds, and for war. It was a defining characteristic of the Eurasian nomads during antiquity and the medieval period, as well as the Iranian peoples, (Alans, Scythians, Sarmatians, Parthians, Sassanid Persians) and Indians in antiquity, and by the Hungarians, Mongols, Chinese, and the Turkic peoples during the Middle Ages. Taigan
The Taigan ( ky, тайган), and also known as Kyrgyz Taighany ( ky, кыргыз тайганы ) (Kyrgyzskaya Borzaya in Russian), Mongolian Taiga dog is a breed of sighthound from Kyrgyzstan. The Taigan is found in the alpine Tian Shan region of Kyrgyzstan on the border with China, it is closely related to the Tazy and the Afghan hound. As a sighthound, the Taigan predominantly uses its sight and speed to overcome its prey. The breed is known for its extraordinary stamina at altitude, and its versatility whilst hunting. Tong ( ky, Тоң району, Tong rayonu) is a district of Issyk-Kul Region in north-eastern Kyrgyzstan. The seat lies at Bökönbaev. Its area is , and its resident population was 53,401 in 2021.
